VA Director DeWayne Hamlin

Notoriously Corrupt VA Director Gets Hired Back At Veterans Affairs

VA Director DeWayne Hamlin

DeWayne Hamlin, the notoriously corrupt VA director who was the first termination when President Donald Trump took office was just rehired by Veterans Affairs.

Hamlin is reportedly back at work following termination from his position the morning of January 20, 2017, when President Trump was sworn in. His present role and job duties are not publicly known.

His termination was the result of numerous allegations including stealing opioids for his own use and unlawfully harassing whistleblowers who reported his wrongdoing. Hamlin even tried to pay off one whistleblower with $300,000 after she refused to make false allegations against another whistleblower. He was also found drunk in a car and in possession of painkillers that were not his own, among other things.

VA On Hamlin Case

“On the morning of January 20, 2017, the Department removed DeWayne Hamlin, the director of the VA Caribbean Healthcare System, from the federal civil service. Mr. Hamlin subsequently appealed his removal to the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), and because of particulars in his case that remains under active litigation, he was brought back to work at VA,” spokesman James Hutton told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

“As we have underscored since January 20, President Trump and Secretary [David] Shulkin have made employee accountability at VA a top priority, and we will continue to take appropriate disciplinary actions with our employees. The Secretary in this case was not able to overturn this decision once he was made aware of it. We need this ability in new legislation.”

Hamlin reportedly returned to work earlier this month after he filed an appeal with the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB).

RELATED: San Juan VA Director DeWayne Hamlin Terminated

Does This Seem Right?

This is the same board that could reinstate Sharon Helman later this year based on her appeal. Helman is a felon for misconduct who was terminated from her job as Phoenix VA director after allegations of wait time manipulation surfaced at the facility in 2014.

Will Hamlin be able to enjoy employment at a high salary while enjoying the same 3-year appeal cycle enjoyed by Helman?

Are VA directors whose last names start with “H” impervious to the rule of law? (I’m only half joking here).

Spokesman Hutton blamed the lack of legislation on Hamlin’s ability to return to work, but like Helman, he may be enjoying poor prosecution of termination procedures within VA.

Hutton told TheDCNF: “As this demonstrates, more needs to be done. VA will continue to work with Congress on priority legislation that will ensure the Department can appropriately manage its employees at all levels, to ensure accountability, especially in cases when employees are derelict in their duties or fail to care for Veterans.”

When Will VA Get Tough On Bad Leaders?

VA managers and lawyers are required to prosecute terminations, especially in instances of fraud and whistleblower retaliation. However, VA is noted to be less than zealous in doing so.

Now, theft, harassment, and drunk driving are not Hamlin’s only sins. He also hired a convicted sex offender to work at San Juan VA’s human resources and another criminal charged with fraud to work in his contracting department.

Last fall, VA selected Hamlin to instruct VA leaders about leadership quality.

No kidding.

  4. @Ex va: Your very welcome Ex. Once people see what you built, they are going to want you to build them one too. Already two neighbors asked if I could build them one. I do not have the energy left. They have kids, send them over and take a couple pictures and get busy….

    1. @cj, LOL!!! Yes that is what people do. Lol. My one neighbor if he sees it, he is definitely going to want one. He plants a small garden. He has a lot of tomatoes. He can’t grow cucumbers or squash that well. He get the blight on them from the soil. The soil here isn’t too good. You have to add manure and organic matter. Heavy clay. Takes awhile to warm up too.

      1. @Ex va: That is the kind of soil I had to plant the tomatoes in this year. To stop blight, mix a spray of 1gal of water, 1tbs of dishsoap, and 1tabs of cooking oil, and 1tbs of baking soda, the oil kills the bugs, the. baking soda changes the ph level of th leaves and the dishsoap helps disperse the cooking oil for spraying.

For blossom end rot, dig the hole, put a table spoon of epsom salt, and a teaspoon of lime, and then add some worm castings or high grade compost in the hole, mix it up, and then put the plant in.

      2. @cj, i like the homemade sprays like that. When i gardened i use to do the oil spray with soap. It is suppose to suffocate the bad bugs. I use it on fruit trees too. I have a dwarf peach tree i bought some spray because of those Japanese beetles. I hate those things. Makes all the foliage have holes in them. They eat the fruit too.

      3. @Ex va: Yes those damn Japanese beetles……..we get over run by them, that is when I break out the diatomaceous earth, and a leaf blower. That gets rid of them in quick order, only problem with that method is it also kills the bees.

      4. @cj, i use a Pyrene spray. I don’t know probably spelling it wrong. I bought it from ace hardware store. They told me you have to break their life cycle to get them out of your yard. I don’t know, those damn things come back every year. Some worse than others. They are the grubs in the ground. Then they become beetles. I let moles dig tunnels in the yard they are suppose to eat the grubs.

      5. @Ex va: No moles here. Those compost bins I was talking about, you can see them in the background in the one picture, along with the pvc pipes leaning on a diagonal.

      6. @cj, you keep everything looking nice in your yard. Mine looks more like a jungle. Too many trees. Lol. The fence rows grown up so much can’t see the fence. Lol. Need to get things looking better.

      7. @Ex va: I don’t have a choice, my wife, the prison guard, sentenced me to life at hard labor…….

      8. @cj, God Bless you and yours. I hope you have a good appointment. Take care driving.

      9. @cj, life of hard labor? Prison guard? LOL! Your a hard worker, you were built that way. Lol! We work hard because that is what we like to do. Lol!

      1. @Ex va, That is good, I can’t complain, was a good day, nice breeze. Got a lot done.

      2. @cj, we had a small storm come thru this afternoon. Good to hear you had a good day.

      3. @Ex va: I wish that storm came through here, went form too much rain to nothing…….now we need rain again.

      4. @Ex va: Actually, today I am feeling it, been pushing too hard, I need to back down a bit. A few days to just enjoy being outdoors, and not have to do anything.

      5. @cj, you got the hard stuff done, now you can cut back a little. We are getting rain every 3-4 days. Grass is getting a little out of control. Wish i could send you some rain up there. Lol.

      6. @Ex va: Same up here. Friday, lower 80’s……………….Yes, please send rain!!!! All that work, I don’t want my tomato plants to die off.

      7. @cj, thanks for the e-mail. That helped me out a lot. I had a hard time getting an image of it. And the material list. I can figure how much it will cost. Appreciate it.

      8. @Ex va: What I like most about it, is how organized your planting needs to be to get the most out of it. When stuff starts to pop, it will all be in nice perfect rows. And at a perfect working height. Already harvesting spinach, and the potatoes, have broken ground, had to hill them over today. Will be a good harvest this year.

      9. @Ex va: Water is close? Not close to the plot the tomatoes are planted in, Close to all at the home gardens yes.

      10. @Ex va: That is the part that sucks about planting tomatoes, it is a lot of work, germinating the seed, starting them indoors, and taking care of them, then hardening them so they can be put into the ground, and after all that, if the weather doesn’t cooperate, or you get a disease, your season is over. One big crap shoot. I have them backed up with other produce just incase.

      11. @cj, i like those new potatoes. Those are so good. I like the sweet potatoes too. Hopefully, you will have plenty of rain this year, so you will not have to worry about water.

      12. @Ex va: It’s the big guy upstairs messing with us, he needs to have fun too ya know. lol

      13. @cj, do you put any mulch around your tomatoe plants? That keeps the blight down, that is what i was taught. I am old school it may/may not be true. Heck i need to research all this stuff. Things change.

      14. @Ex va: I don’t use mulch, I use a product called purple cow. It is like the purple cow high grade mulch, only 100’s of percent more concentrated, made specifically for tomatoes. The purple cow mulch is about 10 dollars a bag, and the concentrate is about 30 a bag. The local green house only purchases a half pallet, if you don’t get yours early, it runs out real fast. I didn’t use any of the concentrate this year. Not in my budget.

      15. @cj, i never heard of this purple cow. I use to use grass clippings for mulch. I will have to check out what i can use when i get going. If the greenhouses are using purple cow i need to check that out.

      16. @Ex va: For a good compost, google quick composting method, and look for the method that uses pvc pipe with holes drilled in it. I made three bins out of old pallets. You can google pallet compost bins, to see how those are made. you only have to make this stuff once, like the bins, then they last forever just about.

      17. @cj, that raised bed you built is perfect height. You can sit on a stool or wheeled cart and plant and harvest. No bending.

      18. @Ex va: I never did figure out how clicking on “reply” for a comment notice, could re-direct me to a damn DAV site.

      19. @cj, my neighbor has horses so i can get manure. Like you said I need to build a compost bin. That manure needs to break down some before i could use it. They say old farmers would use fresh manure for their hot beds because it would generate heat. Never tried it. Compost is cheaper than buying it.

      20. @cj, yeah, that was crazy hitting reply taking you to DAV in New Orleans. We have had some crazy stuff happen here late at night. Lol.

      21. @Ex va: Ex, I need to get some sleep, I have an appointment tomorrow with the tbi doctors. I missed my appointment last week. Sleep well Ex, and God Bless you and your family. Goodnight.

  5. A bit off topic, but speaks to the corruption in the VA here in Austin.

I spoke to another neurosurgeon today.
This guy said he spent an hour or more reading my file, my MRI reports, and looking at MRI images. Then told me he didn’t see anything anywhere that said or showed disc degeneration, disc bulges, or Anything that could be causing my multitude of symptoms.
I asked if he had read and looked at MY file. Then i said, because in Every one of the 13 MRI reports from done by the VA and outside hospitals, it clearly states degeneration of 11 discs. Tears and protrusions on multiple discs, and then on the last two MRIs it states SEVERE LOSS OF DISC SPACE, and SEVERE….he cut me off saying that I didn’t know what I was talking about. Then thanked me for coming to visit and left the room.

I need a fucking lawyer. Know any?

    1. @LP, LP if you file a complaint online with the OIG, it won’t do shit, except insure you never get another appointment with that particular quack. Hope that helps, and you get a “real” doctor. Good luck, hope it all works out for you.

    2. Find out where he is licensed and file a complaint with the licensing board in that state, or post his name and we will find all the details on him.

This is nothing more than blatant malpractice.

      1. Dr. Tamas
        Neurosurgeon
        Very overweight, 50+ white guy.
        That’s all I know.

I talked with the Patient Advocate about it today. He said he’s going to have a talk with the dr to find out what files were read, because looking at Only my last MRI report, the advocate read out loud all the things I had privious written on this blog.

      2. LP, I found out the hard way that putting things in writing generally gets a better response from these clowns.

Some patient advocates will listen to you, then forget anything you said once you leave. That patient advocate should have written a Report of Contact based on your meeting. That should trigger action by either the Chief of Staff or Chief of Patient Safety, or possibly nothing at all.

It was only when I put my concerns in writing that it triggered the Chief of Staff to inquire to my PCP…in writing, and the PCP had to respond, also in writing.

I put it in writing because the patient advocate flat-out ignored my complaint, then ignored my phone calls and voice mails. When I caught her in her office, she claimed she couldn’t return my calls because her office was being rearranged.

It takes over two weeks to rearrange a single person occupancy office furniture?

I asked why she couldn’t use other phones in the hospital. She didn’t respond.

      3. When I’ve contacted these turds in writting, they refuse to respond. In writting. They have a third or sometimes fourth person relay responses to me in no way helpful, and most of the time the responses don’t even make sense…like they are answering someone else’s questions.
They have given me printed appointment papers in person and in the mail that were for OTHER VETERANS. Full social, full name and address on docs…this can’t be just one moron.
So, I’m attempting, again, to get ahold of ANYONE that can assist me in suing these assholes for medical malpractice. Negligence with intent to cause permanent bodily injury, etc. They must pay. Legally.

  6. Good for Ohio, I hope they can clear up many questions surrounding this issue. If you would look at Sessions record of voting, you can see who Sessions is. He did leave Alabama in a hurry. Oh, @Rich B. I’m in Alabama, Jasper.

  7. Breaking News: Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine just filed a massive class action lawsuit against the Big Pig Pharma for being primarily responsible for the “Opioid Epidemic”. “Over 3,800 Opioid overdose deaths in Ohio’s 88 counties for 2016 alone.”
4000 x 50 States+ the VA’s contribution to this problem = 20,000 senseless deaths a year for heroin overdoses, which again, does not give a clear number of the actual deaths from prescription drugs but damn it, we in Ohio are going to make that square puzzle piece fit into the round hole, you watch.

We have an insane governor. He’s not right.

Although the large PROBLEM is heroin but you NEVER hear of THAT word used.

Kind of hard to file a lawsuit against the Afghanistan Poppy Farmers and the related later heroin manufacturing from the Opium? So let’s go after the drug companies!! No talk of penalizing M.D.’s for irresponsibly prescribing. Not a peep.

Just on my local news they even asked the Ohio AG what about making the Doctors responsible and accountable….he deflected.

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker announced the State of WI wants to start drug testing anyone eligible or on Medicaid and kick them off or onto the streets if dirty tests.

What this smells of…the $$$$ cookie jar is running very dry in USA and States are looking for ways to save $$$ and just the our U.S. Gov’t. currently, want to do it on the backs of the poor or ill.

The Constitutionality of Scott Walker’s Plan has to be determined. I’m telling you this is a *test*…Paul Ryan has his hands in this, no doubt…watch this because it’s another can of worms if opened, yet more constitutional rights and protections go right into the pockets of the swamp beasties.

Speaking of pockets: Insider Trading by Congress Critters has been out of control…I thought AG Sessions had some balls?

    Rant Out. Rat Bastards!

    1. However, do the math of 22 Veteran Suicides a DAY (365 x 22)=_____….THAT # is more alarming and urgent to me for some reason.

      1. Is it a coincidence that # jives so close to Ohio’s AG # of heroin od deaths a year?

  8. @Rich B., nah, not a liberal or Democrat. Thanks for your input. As much as I have tried, and I do get what POTUS is trying to do, I will be nicer to the President. To hell with Kushner, and his wife. Thanks, Rick….B.

  9. ANutterVet…………………… In Response to your questions

My Question – – – What are BENEFICIARY’s (Veterans) supposed to do in the interim when they filed and are waiting for a decision? Especially if they need medical care but they don’t have the means?

In the old days we were on our own when it came to our first initial VA compensation claim. We could not use the VA Medical Centers until we were rated.

For quite a while now ( after 911)

Veterans are actually rated by the VA before they leave service, in fact their last physical and medical records are sent to an on base VA office as early as 2 months prior to discharge. Most will receive a rating prior to their departure from the military. Those who do not have a rating are entitled to use the VA until they get a rating. I have also read that all veterans get 5 years of va care upon discharge regardless of any rating.

In the interim do what they always do, use VA medical care until they receive their ratings. Yes…

Another Scenerio – – – What happens if a BENEFICIARY (Veteran) is discharged, and for some reason numbs their self due to experiencing weird symptoms. Then the BENEFICIARY continues in life, but for some reason no one has picked up on it, not even the BENEFICIARY or close family or friends, that the symptoms are due to PTSD. And during this lengthy period of time , the BENEFICIARY was not able to hold down a permanent job, even though the BENEFICIARY was well qualified. Afterwards, the BENEFICIARY realizes that these crazy explosive episodes, where the BENEFICIARY always goes for his weapons, have been caused all this time by having PTSD. Now the BENEFICIARY goes to the VA for help. Should the BENEFICIARY be able to get medical care from the VA or not? Even if the BENEFICIARY has no other resource to get medically treated for PTSD?

See the answer to the first question.. Most veterans will get a rating of some kind when they are discharged. If for some reason, a veteran forgoes the normal out processing procedures they can open a claim at any time.

  10. @Nitewash, all our prayers go out to you and your family members. Way too many people die that shouldn’t. Our Dr Shulkin also said one cockroach can ruin…. Hey Doc, there’s never just one cockroach. Look around you Doc, the VA’s full of them. This VA is seriously f—-d up. The laws don’t work, the Veterans are not getting good care at most VA’S. Dr Shulkin is a skilled liar. I have no clue as to who POTUS is listening to. I do know that Kushner made half a billion in China. Mrs Kushner’s doing what put Martha Stewart behind bars. Haven’t heard a word from Jared. Guess there’s no money in it for him.

    1. jo3n… concerning your remarks about Kushner, and the President’s wife….

I suspect your a liberal… no one but a liberal would attack Trump and his family like you did in your post.. why your almost as good as Nancy P, you know the liberal from California…. Oh..and how about your friend Maxine Waters ? Seems you took a few lesson from her too…..

factually, There is no proof that Kushner made any money from any deals with china, and if he or his family business does do a deal with China there are not laws against it.. Hell the US buys stuff from China all the time…. why would his dealing be any different…… As to Ivanka Trump, aka Mrs. Kushner.. you have no idea what your talking about… isn’t it nice to be an American, you can spew any kind of garbage you want to spew and get away with it, regardless of who you may insult or slander in the process..

Of course they don’t need me to protect them but Just saying, really silly of you ….

  11. Here is the only sane solution:

Fire the entire VA staff, privatize the VA hospitals and let them stand or fail on their own merit and issue a VA Health Services Card to our veterans that they can use at ANY HEALTH CARE FACILITY ON EARTH! We would be money ahead by eliminating the bureaucratic waste, fraud abuse and our Vets would get the care they deserve.

    1. Working for Health Net? Or is it Tricare? Both in the top 10 for government contracts and orchestrating things like the Phoenix and Cheyenne crises.

  12. I have been working on my claim this A.M. getting paper work together ,then i said fuck it,… they don’t read anything anyway , got to specific issue of disagreement ,I just put {ALL} … I’m not wasting my time on that BS they have all the evidence they need…..on the denial they denied my left leg and i claimed the right ,turned my renal cell carcinoma to right side pain, ass holes I think I’m going to burn one LOL and turn it in tomorrow…..let the next BOZO read it

    1. @OLDMARINE – – – Oh you cannabinoid [CBD] Old Fartster. Go ahead, burn one for me. – – – Nutter.

    2. @ANutterVet – – – Hey Marine, take it easy on yourself. Don’t let that BS get to you. Go take a nice break, talk to someone or something that gets you energized. Then pick a morning to start to work on those papers. Tip; don’t work on the papers later in the day. Let it be the first thing that you work on. If it is too much time to finish, break it up over a couple of mornings or something. In this manner, you may remember something that came to your mind that you totally forgot to add to the paper(s). Good luck Bud.

I may not be going thru a redo now, but I’ve been separating my self from these nitwits. Almost put me into peak withdrawal without any help. Nice huh. I fired them or I protect my life. And, they won’t like what they see or how I protect myself. They pushed to much, its war. Perimeters have been established. And, I’m ready to meet my fate. Yes, even a no breather (that’s not a misspelling [brainer]).

    3. @OLDMARINE, give yourself a break. Do it when you are in a calmer state of mind and over a few days or a week or two if necessary. I know forms can be confusing and very frustrating. You will get this completed. Everyone goes thru this madness of paper work. Take care of yourself first.

      1. Ex va …..THANKS FOR YOUR CONCERN….your right…but this isn’t my first RODEO with them .. I am just waiting for the day I see them face to face but I don’t think it will go that far.. they are trying to frustrate me on purpose so i will quit, but thats not in my vocabulary….so when the going gets tough. the tough get going..LOL THANKS

    4. Don’t give up. Ask for a hearing stating the errors. State dates of documents that are correct.

      1. LEM…. don’t worry I’m not giving up thats what they want me to but that ain’t going to happen…but thanks for the encouragement

  13. Again:
The only solution to the problem, Is to put ALL the VA employees under UCMJ type legislation! (Condition to get employment with the VA)

  14. Humorous Definition of Covfefe; posted by TatersandPears on May 30, 2017

(n.) When you want to say “coverage” but your hands are too small to hit all the letters on your keyboard.

    Despite constant negative press covfefe.

    #trump #donal trump #drumpf #maga #the best words

    by Tatersandpears May 30, 2017

I did NOT coin this definition. Found it online late yesterday, May 30, 2017. All though, COVFEFE is short one letter to mean the word, COVERAGE. But keep in mind, could of been a misspelling by POTUS, and he wasn’t done before his finger slipped off to hit enter. And then when POTUS noticed his COVFEFE on his tweet, he figure he’d put a spin on it, or he created his own definition. Go figure?

  15. Not on topic at all yet being reclusive I speak least the sorrow become too much for me to bear & I know/hope you all won’t judge & may say a tiny pray for her soul. One of my nieces moved a couple years ago to Indiana w/her husband & kids to his home town with the promise of jobs & a place to live & everything would be so much better than CA. What she found was unemployment, homelessness & no safety net. On Memorial Day she became another static of suicide, another number in the epidemic ‘Deaths of Despair’. She was 33, she was loved & will be missed.

    1. My NiteWish, I’m so sorry for the loss of your niece. Thoughts and prayers extended to you and your family from my wife and I. I’m only able to help support you in our prayers. – – – God bless – – – Nutter.

    2. @NiteWish: NiteWish, please except my deepest condolences. You will all be in my prayers. I am so sorry of you loss, and it is so sad such a person you described, couldn’t have reached our for help. The wrong people are dieing. May an angel meet her halfway, and fly her to a more loving world.

    3. @Nitewish, so sorry for your family’s loss. I will be praying for you and your family.

  16. How many believe the VA, and Shulkin specifically knew about this bullshit before Memorial Day and waited to do anything until after?

Yeah, that makes it all better.

I guess before Memorial Day risked Isakson flying off his friggin Stairmaster and into his BBQ grill.

The interesting thing about the Daily Caller article is that the VA did not even wait for a ruling from the MSPB on Hamlin, and the case put together by VA lawyers did not even include the most provable reasons for his firing.

WTF is wrong with VA lawyers?

Yet they have the gall to whine to DOJ about Ben representing veterans aggressively?

    1. How could the VA and Shulkin ***NOT KNOW***?

Of COURSE, those rat bastards KNEW. Hamlin obviously has same amount of dirt on other employees as the Graves duo seemingly do. Hell, Hamlin may have dirt on Graves, and Graves has dirt on Hamlin…no mutual assured destruction (MAD) here at all.

Just a rat bastard/fat bastard network of ratty rats clawing their way through Veteran cookie jar collection.

Maybe, just **maybe** the VA is in need of an….exorcism!
      Why?
      Satan wants his coal back.

  17. If you look at the MSPB Wikipedia entry, the MSPB is appointed by the President.

At some point, Trump and congress need to get serious about cleaning out all the worthless Obama holdovers and appoint people who follow the friggin law instead of looking for minor technicalities to overturn a firing.

There is no new legislation needed. There is a strong need to fire VA lawyers and others who can’t seem to put any effort into firing these worthless fucks!

Why is the VA not appealing this from the MSPB? Why is it every time they fire a corrupt hack, it is overturned and the VA immediately throws up their hands whining that they tried?

Imagine what would happen to a veteran accused of theft from the VA.

Imagine what would happen if a veteran was found with a prescription from the VA that was not theirs.

If the DEA or others are investigating drug theft in the VA, this jackass should be the poster child for who to investigate.

    1. @91Veteran – – – Precisely. The whole covfefe smacks of corruption and incompetence. Time to clean the whole house for sure . . .

      Disgruntled Veteran

      1978 – 1993 USN

  18. Even though this “Stars and Stripes” article is from 23 May 2017, it should be in our minds for a long time!
I received it yesterday from “military.com/Daily News”
    Titled;

“Budget Calls for Cuts to VA Programs as Tradeoff for Extending Choice!”

The “tradeoffs” will, of course, be a handicap to veterans and their spouses. No longer will spouses receive “Champva” once the veterans lose “IU”! And, once the veteran dies the spouse will no longer be eligible for “Spousal Support”!
Also, and I believe just as important, the loss of compensation ($) will mean the surrounding businesses will lose revenue, resulting in a stagnation of the economy!
Could this be what Shulkin wants? Isn’t he an “Obama Holdover” wanting President Trump to fail?
His “remarks” over this “criminal being reinstated at the VA”, he wasn’t aware, is beyond comprehending any logical conclusion!
I believe we need to look at this from an “economic standpoint”, and not from a “personal feelings” standpoint! As I’ve pointed out, an “economic stagnation”, of the surrounding businesses, is NOT what President Trump, or his “economic advisors”, will want to hear!
Some on here believe this new “Budget Plan” will NOT pass. That’s a good thing. On the other hand, “Shithead Shulkin” needs a lesson in economics – and the sooner the better!

That’s my opinion, brothers and sisters!

    1. Isn’t it interesting how congress can look at legislation that cuts veterans benefits, but it takes them years to hold anyone at the VA accountable, including for criminal acts?

Congress can’t find its ass with both hands and a map when it comes to accountability as long as the money keeps flowing.

      1. And only the blink of an engorged purple team’s eyes to notice travel pay fraud or errors of any kind when trying to get the VA to pay.

  19. @ALLREADERS – – – This morning at 02:05, I switched on CNN briefly. Just in time to see them air one of POTUS Trump’s “infamous” tweets. The tweet was “This negative press covfefe”.

    COVFEFE.

Naturally, all the commentators are trying to figure out what happened. Did the POTUS fall asleep in the middle of the tweet? Did he have some sort of medical attack that rendered him momentarily helpless?

    And other sorts of balderdash.

The answer is simple really. You have to maintain a certain sense of decorum when you are POTUS. Even though POTUS Trump sometimes pushes the envelope a bit, he has never crossed the line into bad taste.

COVFEFE is simply Polite Presidential Speak for CLUSTERFUCK. Nothing more. Nothing less.

The AFGE is a model COVFEFE of what all good labor unions should strive to be.

The VA is a COVFEFE of medical excellence for our nations veterans.

We should improve this COVFEFE significantly with a $50 Billion Budget Increase over the next two years.

    Simple really. COVFEFE.

    Thoughts?

    1. @James Clement, ROFL!!! Now i am trying to figure out what COVFEFE was meant by POTUS. I think you are correct not a typo, it is a cluster****. Simple…

      1. I accidentally, via spellcheck, while texting my mother and asking her how those purple *clematis* I bought her years ago are doing…and spellcheck turned clematis into *clitoris*. (just TRY to pull yourself out of that one)
Mind you, I have pretty bad peripheral neuropathy where capacitive touch screens go bonkers at any sensitivity setting.
Now I am very careful when texting or typing, especially to my mother. 🙂

      2. I should also add my mother is like “The Church Lady” from Saturday Night Live good days but on steroids. Mega Church Lady Mom.

      3. @Namnibor – – – Do you need a place to hide for a week or so? Or, do you want to run away? I can help with either.

      4. No, thankfully there’s the distance of about 3 hours and another State separating us. 🙂

      5. @namnibor, you could blame your spellcheck on…….SATAN!!!!! maybe then your mom would have a better understanding. Lol. Love the old Saturday night live. Real life accidents sometimes are more hilarious than jokes. Feel for you bro. Had a chuckle about this. Lol. Thanks for posting it.

      6. @Ex va- That would only embolden and encourage her stance and then by her logic, I am Satan. Yep, that’s how extreme it is. Almost Jim Jones strong. Same State even. 🙂
This funeral event of my father really stirred-up my shit. It’s yet another confirming reminder that I went into the USAF right out of H.S. for a reason. A case of grand escapism. Textbook.
The thing is, I consider myself a Christian, but in my mom’s world, you have to be the *right flavor* or Christian to qualify.
This also was a contributing reason my dad not once asked to talk to me in the weeks he was in hospice…or any other time in my life. Indifferent as the VA…unless you are the preferred flavor or fanaticism. No thanks.

        Rant Out. In a mood.

      7. @Namnibor – – – Funny story! Almost had the H2O Black clearing my sinuses, but not (thankfully) quite. Due medical condition, have self-imposed allergy to capacitive touchscreens and automated spell checks.

      8. @namnibor, sorry i didn’t know it was that extreme, that is a shame on her part, she is isolating herself from people with the exception of the ones that only share her extreme views. Sorry about the loss of your dad.

I have known a few people with those extremist religious views. IMHO That is not Christianity the way i understand it to be. I have some cousins like that highly successful and wealthy and will not help some of their close family members (parents) because of their Christian extremism. Because they don’t approve of the way someone lives their life and don’t believe in their flavor of Christianity they chose. I think it is just an excuse to hide their selfishness and indifference towards others.

I am sorry if i brought up something painful, that was not my intention. I know how it feels to be isolated from family. My dad was an alcoholic, high functioning and is one of the most selfish people i have met in my life. My mother was the enabler and everything was hidden in a closet. They live in denial of everything.

Don’t blame you for any rant, you have a right to. Take care of yourself and that beautiful cat that loves you.

  20. The Shulkin Shit Sandwich (SSS) is still steaming. Today is the last remaining day of the month of May being designated as “Military Appreciation Month”, so with all the various ways Shulkin and his Shit Sandwich are actually hurting Veterans announced this month, will May 31st bring a massive VA Meatgrinder Shulkin Shit Sandwich?

Here in Ohio on TV ads there’s a barrage of Veteran Service Org.’s and EX VA Directors on these commercials talking about some new proposed ballot issue concerning prescription drugs and how it would increase costs for Veterans massively. With no explanation or qualifying how or why it would.
Beside the piggy VSO’s are pharmacists, paid-off M.D.’s working Union Time….WTF?

These VSO’s and VA Ex Directors are doing PR and trying to tell Veterans and Public to not vote on some issue while Rome is literally burning in their hindsight…and the piggys squealed on, and on, and on….

HEY VSO’s!!!!!! What’s **REALLY DANGEROUS** is allowing KNOWN THUGS to come back to work at the VA, where Veterans and Tax Payers are given the finger by the AFGE and VA!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, still in a bit of a mood today.

    Rant Out.

      1. @OLDMARINE – – – Long term (especially years) at least of every prescribed medication, will have contraindications evident by desensitized or epi-sensitized biological receptors. Even though pharmaceutical does have a place in medicine, when a person is taking prescriptions of any kind (and-or Over-the-Counter OTC medicines), it is very important to hydrate, eat foods that are loaded fluid, foods that contain a high amount of anti-oxidants, both forms of fiber (soluble and insoluble), and to take supporting organic supplements that contain super anti-oxidants that continually flush your liver, kidneys, gallbladder and other organs. Our society has been so dumbed downed by design (social engineering [recall is bad my wife had to remind me of the name]).

Hate to bring the VA into the mix, but they never prescribe supplements that has been proved to help the BENEFICIARY’s (Veterans) when they are prescribed medications, nor do they encourage to do so. FRIGGING CRAZY due to what scientists are publishing in research journals, and especially what I’ve experienced in my own life. DANGEROUS PEOPLE those VA so-called Medical Professionals.

That’s why my top mission right now, is to get out of the VA and get my medical care in the Private Sector. My situation is completely different from others, and it forces me to search for creative ways to get medical services from the private sector. So far, I’ve secured free private sector services from a wide range of physicians, and all I need to do know, is to work on a couple other areas that has to do with what I need, and I’ll be able to tell the VA to kiss my dam ass.

I’ve been under the care of the VA for 5 years, and now I’m at the point where I had to fire my PCP. And, threaten to expose them on how their last move could have killed me. I’m moving out !!! (classic Billy Joel song).

  22. This article brings up a lot of issues of what is so devastating wrong with the department of Veterans affairs. The vamc in marion, illinois who was nationally recognized as being corrupt with botched surgeries with an estimate of over 20 Veterans who died they have yet to get some justice from the crime of negligence or as the department of Veterans affairs stated that inefficiencies lacked accountability in credentialing and priveledging surgeons and caused some Veterans to bleed out from their surgeries and deaths est. between 2006-2008.

Surgeons were performing surgeries that the did not have the credentials or priveledging to do. To me these acts is something that could go wrong in any vamc anywhere in this United States.

The marion VAMC’s director who was dismissed received a visn position and probably never missed a paycheck. He was never made accountable because that is not the real department of Veterans affairs. The director and upper manager are responsible for surgeries, credentialing and priveledging.

I am so disgusted by the lack of justice for the mass lost of lives over this incident. No justice for their lives taken from them or the families who suffered the loss of their loved one.

    1. What is wrong with the Department of Veterans Affairs is simple Ex va. This article is a good example and is the proof of the theory.

We can all agree that corruption is the price of government and that the best we have ever done as a race is to keep in check by rules. One of the rules common to all forms of government is of course accountability. In a Constitutional Republic this means that The People decide collectively what the rules are by electing representatives among us to go and decide. In other words accountability is the consequence of a representative republic. When the will of the People is represented then the government is in obeyance of the Constitution. Accountability is the mandate of our representatives.

In this case the man was fired by the Executive Branch, POTUS himself, who is also elected collectively to represent the will of The People. It worked up until that point. Then this man went to another part of government and undid the will of The People. This is not the sin per se in our Republic, it is the fact that representation of the will of The People is therefor demonstrated to be impossible. We are not represented by elected officials at whatever board or commission this man used to bypass representation. The sin is that this board somehow has acquired the power to do that.

      1. The MSPB has acquired the power to reinstate corrupt, felonious hacks simply because they grabbed for that power, while others who truly had the power vested in the office they hold meekly ceded it to them by doing nothing.

But in this case, the MSPB had not ruled on Hamlin yet.

Therefore, what is next in the line of authority? Its the oversight mandate of the House and Senate VA committees who are charged with insuring an agency follows the law, conducts their affairs efficiently, and is responsible for appropriate use of their budget.

The VA clearly fails at all of those, yet the House and Senate VA committees refuse to correct those problems.

Hell they refuse to do much of anything other than insuring the money spigot stays turned on wide open.

I believe demanding a new law from congress to hold these bastards accountable is nothing more than an excuse for ignoring existing laws and authority, but if that is the game they want to play, Johnny Isakson on the Senate VA committee is the one holding up that new accountability law.

If it’s passed, it would likely be challenged in court. If it is upheld, it will only be a matter of time before it too is ignored, and calls for more new laws are made.

      2. @Dennis, agreed, the truth. @91Veteran, the break already existing procedures and laws. No one is willing to enforce the laws, so basically they can get away with murder. It is a sick disgusting reality.

  23. I wanted to share what I wrote and sent to the Democrat Senators on the Senate’s Veterans Affairs Committee yesterday:

    I’M A PISCES – NOT A FISH!

    (05/29/17) – HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY

Michigan, where I grew up and still live, is known as the “water wonderland” state and that’s as fine a phrase as ever was turned in service to the truth.

When I was a boy, even though I was afraid of the water, my father would take me fishing in summer on some of those Michigan lakes and I was always eager to go. We had one of those small, beat-up aluminum boats with a 15 HP all-metal Merc. in the back where my father would sit to steer and man the rear anchor. I would always take the middle seat and was charged with front anchor duty – and having fun!

I know now that my father was probably g r a d u a l l y trying to replace my fear of the water with the fun I had catching fish in it and that love I felt for and from him as I basked in his parental care on those trips is why this memory still floats like a bobber in my mind to this day.
    Good father. Good memories.

The one thing about fishing I didn’t like then, and still don’t today, is when you’d catch a small fish, not “a keeper”, that had swallowed the bait all the way down – “hook, line and sinker.” You tear the small fry’s guts out just to retrieve your fishing tackle.

Now, as a result of the Trump Administration’s 2018 Budget Proposal, it appears that all 100% IU-disabled elderly veteran small-fry suddenly aren’t keepers either. Like the fish, they too have swallowed a bait that the VA calls its’ 100% disability compensation benefit – based upon Individual Unemployability. Again, like the fish, these vets have swallowed that bait ”hook, line and sinker” and are also being scheduled for a summary eviceration – just so the VA can retrieve their tackle.

Yet, once upon a time, my country told me I had earned the right to those IU benefits. Did my country make a mistake? Am I and tens of thousands of other disabled elderly veterans now being told we didn’t really earn those IU benefits after all? May God forbid.

We certainly hear plenty about the VA’s failures and we should hear it. By and large, however, I have received good care and fair treatment from the VA. But that good streak is now in serious jeopardy.

Out of one side of the VA’s mouth I hear them saying that they’ve got to rob from Peter to pay Paul in order to fund the Veteran’s Choice Program. But from the other side of the VA’s mouth a “hot-mic” has overheard that the slippery slope to privatization of VA healthcare is to be further greased with the blood from an eviscerated IU program. Of course, the VA has already been heavily privatized by a plethora of lucrative private sector contracts – for many and varied VA projects and with many and varied degrees of legitimacy and success. For the party in power, I think that the veteran’s choice argument is just another notch in their “Ayn Randian ideological popgun”.That, and I also think the VA wants to eliminate an IU program that has exceeded their use expectations and is now using the Veteran’s Choice Program as a convenient benefits re-set excuse. It seems to me, however, that the VA should not be trying to make any veterans pay for it’s estimating mistakes and that the party in power should try reading some different fiction.

If it were my call, I’d let this deceit see the light of day by putting it out for a single-issue up or down vote of the american people, similar to a special election, to determine whether or not IU eviceration should be allowed or not. Stealing money from elderly disabled vets like some depraved thief in the night by hiding it behind other larger, potentially criminal, headlines of the day is at best – disingenuous. I’m thinking here of, oh you know, that pesky Russia / White House probe into possible treasonous behavior and such!

I’m guessing it would sit a lot better with veterans, including those not even directly affected by this situation, if the american people themselves have spoken yeah or nay on the subject. At least then, those veterans who will be directly affected would feel they were getting a fair hearing of their grievances, even if it was voted down – and I seriously doubt it would be. I can see the headlines now: “Light of Day Sees Political Terrorism” – now there’s a fine twist of judicial fate.
Besides, I’m not convinced most vets really want private sector choice and even those who do
might be persuaded otherwise once they compare having veteran-centric healthcare at the VA versus the private sector where they’ll be treated like “just another number”.

    Whew!
So – if these elderly 100% IU-disabled veterans lose that status they’ll clearly lose a very large portion of the disability compensation the VA has previously determined that they’ve earned. But there’s additional cruelty! They would also lose VA dental and vision care, as a minimum, in addition to the various state-sponsored programs – chief among which are property tax exemptions, in whole or in part, for their primary in-state residence. Michigan, where I live, has such a program that currently saves me about $6;000 annually – another huge domino-effect example of linked benefits that would be ripped out if this budget stands.

I think it must be quite obvious to anyone that these draconian benefit cuts will be absolutely devastating to most elderly disabled vets. Taking stuff away from folks who’ve earned it, and have come to depend upon it, is not merely inhumane – it’s sadistic. Probably for most of these veterans it will be next to impossible to recover from this cunning sucker punch and it’s likely most will lose their homes and/or other possessions as a result. For some others, I believe it is no exaggeration to assert they may even pay with their lives. The sacrifices just keep on coming, but if we are to remain a free nation, the true cost of freedom must always be assessed and addressed completely – in all its’ size, complexities and collateral damage.

What I’m about to say next I’d like to first preface by saying that I have not a thing against rich folks just because they are and I’m not. Of the rich I have met, some are as fine as any folk, rich or poor, that I have ever been privileged to know. And although I’m not generally given to “class warfare” rants, it does seem more and more like some rich folks out there do have a little something against the poor and the middle class these days.

Take Trump-Care for instance – please! As currently written, it is the very definition of a contradiction in terms, disenfranchising 23-million americans from healthcare who have it now and then putting pre-existing conditions back in limbo for those “lucky” folks who remain. Great for the insurance companies, but for the people – not so much.

Then there’s our off-the-charts national debt and the current plans afoot to give rich folks yet another tax break, as though it didn’t even exist. Am I smelling rotten fish here or do my olfactory lobes just not smell-well?

Maybe Im just old-fashioned, but it does seem to me you can’t propose to drain the swamp on the one hand and then fill it with a cesspool on the other. And certainly not without resulting in an even worse outcome!

If you want to “starve the (real) beast” try reigning-in the unbridled greed and out of touch hubris of some in the moneyed class and those politicians whom they bought and paid for that seem hell-bent on pounding the American poor and middle class back into the economic stone age.

Taking stuff away from folks who need it and giving it to those who don’t dishonors the sacrifices of those dead and living Americans who have suffered in the past and of the countless others who will in the future.
If it’s not about that kind of heart and soul, it’s not about anything that has, or ever could earn, the right to long endure.

We, the people, deserve better. So if we, as a nation, aren’t better than this – what’s the point?
A fish is one thing, but a person is quite another!

    Aged 69 years – D.O.B. 03/18/1948
Citizen of the United States of America
    US Army, Vietnam Veteran
VA-rated 100% permanently and totally disabled due to Individual Unemployability – at least for now! With underlying “Schedular” service-connected disabilities of: Ischemic Heart Disease @ 60% disabling and Pulsatile Tinnitus @ 10% disabling.

    1. @Carl D Gilmore: I like your post. I don’t think the budget cuts on the veterans side will pass, As a start to making sure it never comes up again, getting rid of Paul Ryan would be a great start. Your in Michigan, I am in Illinois, would be great to get together and start letting the people of Wisconsin know who is at the bottom of this proposal to hurt veterans. Maybe the people from Wisconsin will do the right thing once informed. I am certainly going to try to form marches in Wisconsin to do just that. We have to start sniping and take out these people at the grass roots level. I don’t care what political party they belong to. If they are against us? then we must make it our lifes work to end their reign of power, and see to it they never hold office again.

    2. Carl Gilmore,

First and foremost, there isn’t any congress critter with the moral courage to vote to change the present laws concerning Individual unemployability benefits, at least not for those who presently receive it. If changed this will be treated just like any other change in va law, those that have IU will be grandfathered, those that don’t won’t get it under new rules, or the rules will be changed so that it is automatically revoked when they start to draw social security.

Factually, not all of your arguments apply to all states when it comes to state benefits, Some states like yours allows for property tax cuts, or non payment of property taxes for those with IU. This is not a benefit in all 50 states. In fact, some states have other considerations before they allow a tax credit, North Carolina for example ( last I checked) only allowed a tax credit if the veteran was awarded the Adapted Housing grant. Some states, allow the free DAV plate to those with IU, other states do not, some states allow it at 50% most states require a 100% rating, while some accept IU. Texas one of the most liberal states when it comes to veteran benefits allows a tax break to all veterans with a 10% or greater rating. So just to be sure not all states recognize IU for tax or other benefit purposes.

I don’t think there is anything in a va regulation that states you or any veteran earned IU. In fact, the award of IU requires a judgement call by the rater based on many factors such as disability rating, kind of disability, and the ability to work, on to continue to work. It is not owed to you or any veteran, if there was such a benefit all veterans would be awarded IU once they reach 60% for one disability or 70% with combined disability with one of the disabilities being rated 40%. Factually, many veterans rated as much as 90% are never considered for much less awarded IU. And while your heart condition apparently prevented you from working, not all heart problems at 60% keep all people from gainful employment. Most awards for IU are requested from the veteran, few are automatic.

Reference you statements considering VA Medical care. The only reason I use VA medical care is because of the prosthetic department. Since I am entitled to automobile adaptive equipment, wheel chairs, braces, eye glasses, hearing aids etc.. I chose to use the VA. If I did not use the VA medical system I would not be able to get these items free of charge, regardless of my 100% rating. Personally, I prefer military medical care, the military does a much better job of caring for their patients than anywhere I have ever been treated. However, treatment in a private facility, is much better than any treatment I have received at the VA. I suspect many if not most veterans prefer to chose private care vrs va care. I know that va care was never intended to be free for all veterans, it fact is was created to take care of those disabled by service. The congress keeps adding categories of care and trying to make is so that almost anyone who served can get care. The VA just is not capable of taking care of all veterans, their aren’t enough doctors, or medical personal for one thing. Personally, I would like the va medical care to revert back to its primary mission, and take care of only those who have a service connected rating, and then only service connected medical care.

As to what you said concerning the loss of vision care, or audio care, not true. Any veteran with a rating of 0% is entitled to eyeglasses and hearing aids, there is not 100% or IU requirement for these benefits. Dental care is quite different and requires direct service connection, or a 100% , IU or voc rehabilitation award.

You sound as if the government owes all people free health care, personally, I disagree like many Americans I don’t want my children or grandchildren being forced to pay for anyone’s health care. In fact, one of the reason the country is in debt is because of the liberally minded people in congress. I doubt they would be so free with the money if it came directly from their pocket.

      Anyway these are my thoughts

      1. Thanks for your comments Rich B.
I’m sure there are lots of 100% retirement-age, IU-rated vets who hope your right about your first comment regarding members of congress lacking the attitude to take that compensation away from those who already have it and already past retirement age – me too.
When I applied for my disability I frankly had no idea that IU even existed so I was expecting only to be compensated for my heart condition. But when the VA’s decision on my application came in, it included the 100% IU rating so I began to research what that was all about and discovered that the VA (at least at that time) was obligated to be proactive about IU if they saw sufficient grounds in a disability application to warrant the rating.
        We’ll see what happens.

      2. Rick B – – – Question, bout the line from what you posted above – “Personally, I would like the va medical care to revert back to its primary mission, and take care of only those who have a service connected rating, and then only service connected medical care.”

My Question – – – What are BENEFICIARY’s (Veterans) supposed to do in the interim when they filed and are waiting for a decision? Especially if they need medical care but they don’t have the means?

The reason I ask, is that you’re pretty well informed and I’d like to get your response. And relating to the above scenario, are you aware of any medical services or programs that the BENEFICIARY that is facing this problem, can get help from the VA? Just asking for a very close friend.

  24. “cj”, namnibor and others,
The Apache of the Southwest had a “special way of torturing their enemies!”
They would tie them in a sitting position, with their legs spread apart. Then they would build a fire close to the enemies crotch!
After awhile, and the person having experienced great pain, the Apache would “cut off the private part” and shove “it” into their mouth!
Not only was this a way of torturing their enemies, it was debilitating and a morale buster for anyone chasing them!

It also won’t be against any “religious beliefs” in America! As y’all have pointed out concerning the Roman “crucifixion”!
I do believe it’s time for this “practice” to be part of the VA’s “corporal punishment!”

My wife didn’t give me the nickname of “Crazy elf” for nothing!

    1. @Crazy elf: This too makes me smile. I like, very much!! You don’t get rid of cockroaches by using a deterrent, you get rid of cockroaches by exterminating them.

    2. @Crazy elf – – – First I have heard of that practice. Looks like you have given me a new reading assignment. Thank You!

First thought is: That practice sounds pretty effective. Tactically speaking.

  25. no surprize. the veteran community & whistleblowers have brought this VA swamp thing up for years.

the most common narrative i hear on news and such the past number of years is the VA wait list/time issue. That’s BS. who cares if you get an appt on time if the same corrupt practices are in place?

no one, and i mean no one in congress is going to do ANYTHING about any of this. screw the freakin wait time narrative, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. probably the most corrupt congress America has ever had in her short existance.

however one does it, flood any and all comm channels to Trump & his son-in-law. i say his son-in-law only because he has some title about fixing the VA and i guess has left it up to him and he has Trump’s ear. what else legally can be done? who the hell wants to spend the rest of their veteran lives beating their head against the wall about this VA thing? we’ve tried everything and sick to death of the BS results.

btw, how come the Rolling Thunder club doesn’t ride for the veterans/VA cause? i just don’t freakin get that man, not at all.

Pres Trump, FIRE the VA head!!!! Rein in that union, or quit talking about veterans and the VA issue! it’s BS if you won’t do anything worth a damn about it!! we’re sick of all the talk and BS!

  26. Dr Shulkin has been there long enough to know who the major players are. If he doesn’t, he needs to be on his way. I’m betting half the upper level know who they are, its the other half. 27. Ronniey had no problem with flight controlers he fired them all and hired new one hell with the union he said they work for me and the people I don’t work for them. Have some ball Mr Trumth fuck these assholes who should be in prission or jail for killing us. Who they were to look after and make better but killed for money and more than I get as a 100% DAV. Fuck them who fought for those they killed rights fuck them all !!!!!!!!!!$!$

  28. Challenge:

This Hamlin puke, if he is os as innocent as he claims or boasts..AS IF…

He will publish his address, phone number, and exact location of his employment…

    OR….

We get the information on our own…..

I suggest each and every VA employee, or criminal become fodder for islam, isis….

  29. Is anyone really surprised? These VA Pules will continue to get away with everything and anything and as long as they are represented by a Corrupt Union official they will. Too bad there isn’t someway too kept these scum bags off the VA payroll. They talk about rules and laws not in place to keep the bums out.. Bullshit, the problem is that no one enforces the laws. And factually, Trump isn’t going to either…. in fact he would argue there are more import things to do, even after he promised to get rid of this kind of scum.

  30. “The head of the VA Caribbean medical center, DeWayne Hamlin, who earns $179,700 a year, was arrested April 26, 2014, after Florida police found he smelled of alcohol and had an oxycodone pill in his pocket for which he did not have a prescription. He refused to take a Breathalyzer test…”

Just more old news. I sure hope we can get this past us and use the time instead to try and figure out how America is getting their hands on so many opiate drugs?

    1. @Dennis – – – Doctors? Thief by employees, at different distribution points where pain meds are accessible or stored? If from the manufacturer distribution point, then most likely organized crime could be involved because of the amount that is available.

  31. Following. Definitely believe there is a large organized crime ring in control here. That doesn’t mean all VA employees. Just those in key positions.

    1. If the leaders in key positions are running the asylum through corrupt eyes, what do you think all the other minions are going to do or think when they see something that someone else is getting away with…I WANT SOME…GIVE SOME OF DAT….that’s what the AFGE Piggies have done. Definitely NOT all 100% of all employees, but it’s all spoiled milk at this point. A total reset is the ONLY way anything in a form of real positive change takes place…or a HUGE natural or otherwise disaster that forces all to go back to more primitive ways and the VA is then part of FEMA….we never win.

    2. …agreed Lem, the problem is with “key” positions. So long as We The People turn the keys to VA buildings into the unlocked position, then some of these bastards are bound to wander back inside!

I saw we weld the damn doors shut and eliminate key positions altogether.

  32. For unknown reasons, I spoke with three war veterans this weekend. None are happy with the VA. But, all shied away from a real complaint. It’s like Stockholm syndrome. One told me if he got too loud he’d be kicked out. He’s almost deaf. I just keep getting angrier.

    1. @Jo3n – – – I hear you. I see a lot of guys like that here in the islands. They will bitch and bitch out at the coffee shop. When they go to the VA, it is a different story. Plus, they can never be bothered to write a letter to their congress critters, etc.

Pretty Pathetic. When they ask me WHY things do not change for the better, I tell them that “I can tell you from personal experience that while your brothers and sisters in arms care, want to help, and are rooting for you – – – it is you that it falls upon to get the shit shovelin’ done. If you do, the shit pile will get moved. If you do not, the pile will just sit there and fester”.

When enough Veterans get FED UP enough with all of the HORSE FUCKERY that goes on with the VA, they will begin to organize. When that happens, Washington had better watch out.

But we are not too well organized at this point. Case in point: I filled out Contact Information and Volunteer forms three times on the “Vets March On America” website. Never heard from them. While I was waiting to hear from them, I got the word out to about 1000 Hawaii Veterans who were committed to marching on the State Capitol – – – should it go off.

Never heard from them. Not a peep. No materials. No Guidance. No acknowledgement. NADA.

So we all had to stand down, due lack of communication from the Vets March On America Mothership. I have no idea whether it went off as planned or not.

Too bad. Good idea. I was impressed by the Women’s March On America. Vets should do the same thing.

      1. @James Clement: James, that is exactly the problem, it has always been the problem. and I am afraid it will always be the problem. Lotta talk, till it’s time to tow the line, then the silence is deafening.

The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing. When good men do nothing, they are no good men.

You think the government is afraid of a revolution? I don’t, we both know, you and I will be the only ones to the show. Our fellow countrymen, have no balls. What they should do is apply to the VA, for a sex change.

      2. @cj – – – Agree with you on some. Some is situationally dependent. Yeah, a lot of talk until time to tow the line. But the silence is not always deafening. 90% of the time it is. But that other 10%? Pure Gold. I am always reminded of one of the first valuable lessons my Drill Instructor taught me. The seven P’s.

Proper Prior Planning Prevents Pyss Poor Performance. Lots of wisdom in that statement. I have no doubt that of the Vets I contacted WRT that Veterans March – – – 900+ would have mustered at the rendezvous point. But with no Command and Control support, it all falls apart.

Saw where you had e-mailed Women’s March organizer’s. Way to go! May take some time, but I am sure you will have a response one way or the other within a few weeks .

“The Only Thing Necessary for the Triumph of Evil is that Good Men Do Nothing. When good men do nothing, they are no good men.” Yes. Some vets may be too old / sickly /disabled to march, but there is always SOMETHING they can do to help. Guys that were mission planners in the military tend to be really good with organization. Guys who were Computer Specialists can handle Comms, Guys who were cooks can set up BBQ for after / during – – – lots of things like that that provide logistical support to those who will actually be marching. Guys who have “Artsy Fartsy” skills can design logos, make signs etc.

But it requires initiative. Nothing gets done without that first guy getting up and starting to work – then telling the second guy “get your ass over here, I’m putting you to work”. THAT is the problem. Very few want to be those first two guys . . . because usually they will carry the heaviest load.

I do not think the government of the United States fears a revolution at all. I do not see any reason they should. Not from the American People. I have said before that from where I sit, and what I see – – – that Vladimir Putin appears to be the most Honest Player in the U.S. Government right now. Never said I liked it. I don’t. But it is what I see. I would just bet that if Old Vlad was appointed SucVA – – – the place would get squared away PRONTO!!!

Democrats, Republicans, Conservatives, Liberals. All equally worthless when it comes to having a vision for this country 15 years from now – – – then implementing that vision today, and staying the course until the end goal is reached.

Makes me ashamed to be an American. We have a country so blessed in many ways. And we have a government who squanders it all away in the interest of Personal enrichment. And a people that believe the bullshit their government puts out, without looking into things themselves.

        Hands. More tomorrow.

      3. @James Clement: James I agree, my comment about good men doing nothing, was aimed more at those that see a wrong doing and decide not to stand up to it. Like if someone blames you for something everyone knows you didn’t do, but they say nothing to help because they don’t want to get in hot water themselves.

Of course, plenty men can’t help even if they wanted for so many different reasons. Disabilities, age. We are on the same page I think.

      4. There are a shit load of Veterans in Topeka Ks that will join you.

  33. If the Senate passes the va accountability act next week, will the va right the ship and at least try to restore veterans’ faith that this is the veterans affairs administration and not the employees affairs administration???

Whistleblowers within the va see the writing on the wall. Their protection is a theory not grounded in reality. Maybe the va will develop another snazzy cliche acronym to make everybody feel all warm and fuzzy and pretty pie charts.

  34. So Ben, you are telling us that the President of The United States, a nation that is nuclear capable and arguably the most powerful nation in the world, lacks the power to fire one single corrupt servant?

    Did I understand that correctly?

  35. Is it just me? Hamlin’s eyes are like an ornately framed portrait in a ‘Scooby Doo Haunted Mansion’ episode. Hamlin’s eyes keep following me no matter where I wander. It’s creepy in a ‘Chester The Molester’ kind of way.

Yeah, I’m not right at all. 🙂

    1. @namnibor, I think we need to turn Hamlin into a nun with a spear through its head. By the way, your just the right amount of not right!!!!!

      1. HA HA!! I remember that joke posted on here, “What’s red, white and black and cannot turn around in a closet”? LMAO!

  36. So this guy gets fired in january, gets his job back 4 months later, because he is appealling it,I have an appeal in for the Camp Lejeune contaminated water and I just received a letter telling me it will be another 377 days just to get my appeal in front of the review board then no telling how long after that to hear something….well with the V.A. this sounds about right…

  37. Mr President, have you totally investigated the Holman Rule? This situation is why it’s there. Oh, please take the boy back.

  38. One thing I know for sure is this issue is getting major attention on the internet! There are more articles (videos) being redone on other VA crimes.
Google this article on utube. There’s a bunch more!

  39. I read where Dr. Shulkin said if he would have known earlier…..blah blah blah. Why didn’t he know all along? Seems the only ones that stay fired are the whistleblowers. If the Dr. Isn’t following through on these type issues, would that be Kushner’s job? What is Kushner’s job? What does it matter anyway? Same shit….

    1. Jo3n,
I’ve been asking the same question about Kushner!
What IS his job? I thought he was put in charge, by POTUS, of cleaning up the Veterans Administration? Where has his scrawny ass been hiding?
Oh, wait, he’s being investigated for possible “…ties to Russia…” by some Congressional Committee, from my understanding!

      Same shit, different fuckin day!

      1. Seems to me that Kushner was given WAY too many responsibilities. For one, Pres. Trump ALSO gave Kushner the task of bringing MIDDLE EAST PEACE…and clean-up the VA if any crumbs are left over. WTF?

Kushner reminds me of a walking manikin. Has that same manikin statue-faced grimace every time, YET…I have YET to heart ONE THING with regard to Kushner and the VA…I really worry that Pres. Trump is listening only to Shulkin, who’s also only listening to the piggy VSO’s and AFGE…

Screw the poop canons at this point. I think we need to test and ensure our tactical nukes are roadworthy and flight-worthy with all that’s going-on in the world, so just nuke all the VA facilities on a day we tell all Veterans to stay home.
It’s the only way to be sure.

    2. It is obvious that Shulkin has had a crabs eye view of POTUS from the start. I said at the outset prior to das fuhrer getting elected that nothing would improve. Nothing has, nor will, but will continue to worsen. They are trying to disenfranchise us all. Not just us vets, but race against race. This isn’t a McVeigh situation it is the realization of V for Vendetta, and expect some Bladerunner overtones.

      1. iratevet24601 …ON YOUR REMARK….They are trying to disenfranchise us all. Not just us vets, but race against race. …….your right…..{DIVERSION} right out of the play-book

  40. Stories like this is exactly why we need to bring back public hangings. Try to appeal your case after harming veterans, when you’re swinging from the end of a rope. Fucking useless government!!!!!

    1. @cj – – – Agreed. Or we could skin them alive very slowly to maximize their suffering. The Montagnard people used to take captured Vietnamese, cut them into very small pieces very slowly, then feed them to their dogs while the captured prisoner watched his own body parts being eaten. Sometimes, it would take several hours, or even a few days before the prisoner died.

Might be a good method for getting the message across.

Thank You for having your wife scan and send those forms to me. Things have calmed down to a manageable level here – – – so that I have some time to work on getting them out.

Frank Waugh, hit on something. Funny how a VA employee gets an appeal hearing in just a few months. Meanwhile, veterans have to wait years. This is beyond fucking insane. And it is beyond time for the revolution to begin!!!!!

    2. @cj,

respectfully I disagree. The Romans understood that beheadings and hangings simply do not deter another individual from public corruption as FULLY as a days long crucifixion in which the participant died a horrific and agonizing death. Corrupt public servants are more fun to toss rocks at, the Romans discovered, when their heads where still attached.

As for me, I defer to lynchings – an American tradition. You still get to throw rocks but you do not have to build a cross first.which might offend some religions.

      1. @Dennis- Well, why don’t we start a new tradition, based upon Rome’s crucifixion technic but doing it entirely without using a “cross”, as it was not only a very handy anatomical human shape, but it also drove further intimidation into the servile by killing them on their own symbol…Anthropology of Religion is a really interesting subject. Arduous, and gets a bit repetitive because of all the killing because my god is somehow better or even bigger than your god…but I digress….the shape need not be a cross is the crux of my message here. 🙂
Any shape will do but I am rather partial to something along the lines of ‘Wheel of Misfortune’….a circular table that can spin but also raise up like a Tilt-o-whirl carnival ride.
The normal crucifixion of hands/legs at tandem places on outer part of wheel, human trash on inside.
You might ask…where’s all the gravity/weight causing extreme elongated pain?

        Centrifugal Wheel of Misfortune.

That wheel can turn as slow or as fast, no one knows!

This is just a hypothesis, I haven’t really given this any thought or anything. 🙂

        Crucifixion….with a spin. 🙂

  41. “[…Now, theft, harassment, and drunk driving are not Hamlin’s only sins. He also hired a convicted sex offender to work at San Juan VA’s human resources and another criminal charged with fraud to work in his contracting department.

Last fall, VA selected Hamlin to instruct VA leaders about leadership quality.

    No kidding.]”

All this does is embolden the rats. It’s like the entire AFGE and VA is giving every Veteran the middle finger while sticking the other middle finger up their asses while giving a long piggy laugh.

Speaking of piggies, where’s the “outcry” of those so-called Veteran Service Org’s on this? Oh, I forgot, the piggies all have their heads up the VA’s ass as well. One BIG fecal circlejerk network of ratty rats! RAT BASTARDS! **BUT** the VA will quickly YANK a Veteran’s pain RX’s while they keep a known THUG employed in LEADERSHIP.

Speaking of leadership. If this THUG is viewed by the VA as the pinnacle of VA Customer Service, then WE ARE ALL TRULY FUCKED, sad to say, but true.

As I have said before, I truly believe the U.S. Gov’t. utilizes the VA and it’s budget as one huge slush fund. The lack of any attempt at proper accounting is a deadringer, but when THUGS like this ASSHOLE PILLHEAD are not penalized, yet protected by the AFGE while Veterans are dying….IS FUCKING UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!

    WTF, VA?!!!!

President Trump: Your time is almost up in my extended “HOPE” you would TRULY DRAIN THE VA SWAMP. June 20th is on a few weeks away. Tick, tick, tick……….

    Rant @&*%@ OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. No, my “rant” is not fucking over!

      WTF, VA?

And you wonder why Veterans cannot extend our trust any longer to you assholes?

    3. THE TRUMP AINT GONNA DO SHIT FOR VETS V !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VETS YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN COME MERDIA TRUMPER PENDEJO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    4. Given the number of investigations into pill theft at the VA, the number of known abusers in the VA and this guy, why are VA employees at any level not mandated to randomly piss in a bottle once a month at a minimum?

It is legal to require drug tests for public safety employees…why not the VA?

I suspect this whole opioid problem is a result of someone looking at numbers of pills used at a facility, and automatically believing all the good doctors at the VA are just prescribing too many to veterans.

I doubt they have thought much on how many are diverted to employees without any thought to veterans.

How many may be diverting and selling?

How many veterans have been told their prescriptions are cut off, while the prescription continues to be filled by someone selling them? Perhaps right back to the veteran who was cut off?

Veterans having prescriptions cut off cold turkey while this bullshit continues just means the VA believes a veteran is lower than whale shit.

I wonder what President Trump and “Shithead Shulkin” are thinking today? Seems like everyone at VA’s are laughing their asses off at Shulkin and President Trump! Why? Because the fuckheads at every VA facility knows they can’t be fired! Even IF they commit felonies, they can’t be fired!

I agree, sooner or later, a “McVeigh” will occur and we veterans will be blamed for it!
As namnibor always says; quote: “Wait for it!”

  47. Another example of how corrupt and inept the VA is…

Also another example of how hard it is going to be to get rid of the long established corruption…

Potus needs to take a page from the Reagan book when he fired the Air Traffic Controllers…

The only posible way to get rid of these thugs is to put them in jail where they will be unavailabe for the VA to re-hire…

  48. Seems like DeWayne Hamlin might be a future SucVA in Training?
What can be said other than that it is time to FIX THE DAMN BROKEN VA:

    1. Recognize the problems inherent in the VA are SYSTEM-WIDE, not just limited to a few locations.

    2. Fire all the Lazy No Good Workers. Fire EVERY single AFGE/SES Employee.

    3. Sell off all the VA facilities. Alternatively, they may be converted into housing for homeless veterans.

    4. Issue all veterans a card that allows them to choose their own doctors within their community that they can TRUST.

    5. The United States Government will PAY those doctors promptly (Within 45 days) for the care they provide veterans.

    6. ELIMINATE the “Federal Protection” Umbrella for incompetent QUACKS that the VA sends to other states to practice other than their own. Going to practice in Hawaii? You need to be LICENSED in Hawaii. Same applies to all other states.

    7. Any claim a veteran submits that requires more than 90 days to adjudicate, is automatically found to be in favor of the veteran. If a claim filed by a veteran is found to be a false one designed to scam the system, the VA will have to prove in civil court that a false claim was intentionally submitted.

    8. All veterans will be allowed to seek/retain the services of a Veterans Rights Attorney from their first initial contact with the VA.

POTUS Reagan broke up PATCO in the ’80’s. POTUS Trump and our current Congress Critters do NOT have Veterans Interests at heart. Perhaps their replacements will. VOTE OUT all these WORTHLESS INCUMBENTS. Give their replacement’s one term to take care of the Veterans. If they cannot muster the stones to do it properly – – – vote their worthless asses out as well.
