New Book Exposes Big Pharma, Hits Hard On VA Opioid Abuse

Mental Health Inc

Award winning investigative journalist Art Levine just published his book exposing the corruption of Big Pharma in Mental Health Inc.

The detailed analysis of Big Pharma and its role in treating military veterans and other Americans was outlined in the text. Levine tied in scandals at Tomah VA and other locations and collaborated closely with me on the sections covering VA for the past year.

Levine hit hard on corruption, oversight failures and how failed reforms put vulnerable citizens at risk. At a glance at the title, one might expect Levine was only writing a book focusing on VA fraud, waste and abuse.

Instead, the text uses analysis of VA to highlight one of many examples where the federal government failed to keep citizens safe.

Amazon Excerpt Mental Health Inc

According to the Amazon excerpt:

The mental health system in America is hardly the front-burner issue it should be, despite lip service about reform after each new tragic mass killing. Yet every American should care deeply about fixing a system a presidential commission reported was in “shambles.” By some measures, 20 percent of Americans have some sort of mental health condition, including the most vulnerable among us―veterans, children, the elderly, prisoners, the homeless.

With Mental Health, Inc., award-winning investigative journalist Art Levine delivers a Shock Doctrine-style exposé of the failures of our out of control, profit-driven mental health system, with a special emphasis on dangerous residential treatment facilities and the failures of the pharmaceutical industry, including the overdrugging of children with antipsychotics and the disastrous maltreatment of veterans with PTSD by the scandal-wracked VA.

Mental Health IncLevine did a solid job analyzing the problem of Big Pharma in our country where veterans and Americans are exploited for profit at all costs. He was kind enough to forward me a copy that included a comment from me on this book cover:

Mental Health, Inc. is a hard hitting text exposing hard-to-swallow realities within the underbelly of the mental health industry and its relationship with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Disabled veterans have long been the tip of the spear for risky, off-label drug treatments within the industry. Levine unearths uncomfortable truths in the system that explain why.

I strongly encourage you pick up a copy. This is our opportunity to reward the few journalists willing to spend years researching and exposing problems within the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Journalist Art Levine Bio

Here is Levine’s bio included on the book’s jacket:

Art Levine, a prize-winning contributing editor of The Washington Monthly and a Nation Institute Investigative Fund grantee, has written for The American Prospect, Salon, The Atlantic, The Daily Beast, Mother Jones, Truthout, AlterNet and numerous other publications.  Among other awards, he was honored as “Journalist of the Year” by the Florida chapter of the  National Alliance for the Mentally Ill in 2001 for his articles in City Link, a Florida weekly, exploring the criminalization of the mentally ill in South Florida. In 2005, as a Health Policy Fellow with the Progressive Policy Institute, he wrote a prescient major report, Parity-Plus: A Third Way Approach to Fix America’s Mental Health System that looked at roadblocks to using effective treatments. Since then, he has exposed a wide range of corporate and government wrongdoing, in a series of articles for The American Prospect, The Washington Monthly and Salon, among others.

Again, I encourage all veterans and those concerned about our country should consider getting a copy of this powerful book.

  1. VA Report: Vets In Private Care Are At Higher Risk For Opioid Addiction
The July 31 VA inspector general report found that the department is having communications problems with the private-sector healthcare providers they hire to treat veterans — problems that could lead to overprescription of addictive opioid drugs for pain management, a nationwide trend that’s fueled the U.S.’s recent prescription-addiction and overdose epidemic.

Despite existing safeguards, hundreds or thousands of vets may be getting opioid scrips that the department never knows about. “Patients suffering from chronic pain and mental health illness who receive opioid prescriptions from non-VA clinical settings,” especially those with lower standards than the VA for prescribing the drugs, “may be especially at risk,” the report states.

“There should never be an opioid prescription to a veteran that the VA is not aware of,” Kayda Keleher, associate director of legislative services for the Veterans of Foreign Wars, told Task & Purpose.

  2. I’m a wee bit paranoid with all these Generals. Options….billionaire child, ? Another politician? I’m running out of imagination. One thing I know is, Sessions knows what he’s doing. He’s stroking daddy.. At the same time, who knows what’s on Sessions mind… Does our President feel safer with every branch of the Service within a few yards? I wouldn’t.

  3. @Gary, I am a bit lost on the opioid situation. I’ve been taking them on and off for nearly 50yrs. Always said to myself, at the time, I am dependent on them. I was. I never had a problem going on or off pain meds. The VA way is wrong. In so many ways, it’s wrong. Truly is sad to hear of Veterans having to be treated like shit; again.

    1. Same here. Since 1983 off and on. But never took more than the Rx said even though the pain was extreme. I waited until the time.

Problem is insufficient drug. For example, the opioids should be replaced with Demerol or something that will relieve the pain in a hospital nurse provided setting the way the Japanese do when the pain is that severe. Experienced both and I clearly prefer the Japanese way over the American way. and actually it would be cheaper to control opioids properly than treat the addictions.

At least it is now recognized in America, that unrelieved pain unrelieved reaches a level either in the extreme or duration that leads one to take that finale exit.

  4. Every time some clown brings up the potential of ‘abuse’ by the VA it does impact my pain medications. I’ve been safely taking them for years and am not an addict, they help with 9 broken bones, 3 knee surgeries, 3 shoulder surgeries, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and herniated disc. I was truck by a drunk teenager who drove off and left me in the street. That was 1973. He had no insurance and was a Draft-Dodger who failed to register. He went on to cripple a 16 year old, and ‘murder’ a person while drunk driving two years later. I live with the pain which has gotten worse over the decades, yet I am not an addict. My Doctors are aware of all my physical impacts and work with me, but some punks and Doctors who choose to abuse, affect my treatment. Screw the whole lot!

Sessions taps former Army general to lead federal prison system
By: Associated Press   2 hours ago

WASHINGTON — A U.S. Army general has been tapped to lead the federal prison system, which will likely see its inmate population grow with Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ tough-on-crime policies.

Sessions announced Tuesday that retired Maj. Gen. Mark S. Inch would lead the federal Bureau of Prisons. He has 35 years of military service.

Sessions says Inch was a former military policeman who was head of the Army Corrections Command, among other positions. Sessions says that experience makes Inch “uniquely qualified” to oversee the federal prison system, a role he says is “critical.”

Inch most recently served as an Army adviser on policing issues, developing programs and policies related to the Army’s police organizations.

YEA…“uniquely qualified” to run a fema camp ….And the plan keep keeps going, only the names and faces have changed..But I bet I’m still on their shit list…OFF WITH HIS HEAD THE EMPEROR YELLS..LOL

My tastes go everywhere except rap and urban. Brain just cannot take it.

Example of an A-Z brief example of my music: Alan Parson’s Project, Alice Cooper or Chains, Bauhaus, Bjork, Blondie, Blue Oyster Cult, Bob Marley, Bowie, the Church, The Cure, Depeche Mode, The Doors, ELP, Frontline Assembly, Gary Numan, Hocico, Judas Priest, Killing Joke, Laurie Anderson, Living Colour, Love and Rockets, Marilyn Manson, Mozart, NIN, Nina Hagen, Pink Floyd, Queen, all way to Zappa and Zeppelin.
But no rap. It’s my kryptonite. My brain interprets Rap music as 10,000 extra-hyper all barking in unison barking incessantly Chihuahuas. Yep, Rap is like an ice pick to my cerebral cortex. 🙂

      5. Depeche Mode’s “Where’s the Revolution” would make a GREAT mantra theme song for we Veterans storming the VA and driving the AFGE into a herd of pigs that jump over a cliff or was that demons names Legion in Biblical New Testament where that happened? 🙂 Demons/Piggies, all the same.

      6. I was thinking along the same lines about the music [Where’s the Revolution] storming the gates, and then playing burning down the house…LOL

Image: Cleveland Clinic cardiologist Steven Nissen goes full quack, insists people who believe in statin drug side effects are part of a “cult”

(Natural News) Prominent Cleveland Clinic cardiologist, Steven Nissen, is so bought off by pharmaceutical companies; he had the nerve to publicly criticize and blame millions of people who are now suffering from the side effects of statin drugs. His latest article, published in Medpage Today, claims that a “Deadly Internet-Driven Cult” is causing patients to turn away from statins.

I guess I’m in with the cult croud…LOL

    1. I guess I too, am in the Statin Cult or Cult of Statins….yeah, that sounds even better. 🙂

      1. 2 of my personal friends with Phd’s in Pharmacology pretty much explained to me how statins impair the human body. Statins are some of the most lucrative products manufactured and it stands to reason that big Pharma will do what is needed to protect their image.

  10. Seems like the U.S. is crumbling. Nothing any good is happening. Just a lot of changes. Honestly, I am not very good with changes. I’m sure to accept changes, just don’t like them. I’m not afraid of a good fight. I just don’t know how to fight all these crooks. I keep gathering information, forwarding information when I can. I keep hearing, ” what’s the use? ” Followed by, “f..k it.” Sometimes, it’s hard to get going.

  11. It is sounding like the party is over in Chiraq the well know destination and distribution center for the mid west of Afghanistan’s product line. The major Drug highway importing through Mexico to Chicago now shut down and recent “Giant” drug busts by the Feds.

Trump is also about to pull all of our troops out of harms way in Afghanistan and bring them home. As McCain is screaming bloody murder over our presidents actions. McCain now ranting openly with his Lame brain as he is leaving Washington for Treatment.

“Feds Bust Giant Fentanyl, Cocaine, And Heroin Ring In Chicago And Western Suburbs”
An undercover investigation led the feds to charge 13 Chicago and west suburban residents with running a massive heroin and coke ring.
By Lisa Marie Farver (Patch Staff) – Updated July 28, 2017 3:51 pm ET

DOWNERS GROVE — Federal law enforcement officials have charged more than a dozen Chicago and west suburban residents in a massive heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine ring that lasted for two years. During the raid, the FBI seized more than 52 kilograms of cocaine, 13 kilograms of fentanyl, 45 kilograms of heroin, and pound of methamphetamines.

With the United States market for the Afghanistan products closing what will they do with all of the product they are now dependent on producing. Cut prices and sell it in Pakistan?

    1. Maybe they can start importing into Turkey. Let those shitbirds deal with an opiod crisis.

      1. AG Sessions is going to be in Central Ohio tomorrow talking to legal and law in area about the opioid crisis and how to approach.

      2. @nam

Tell him the answer is simple legalize cannabis and make it easier and safe to access than the opiates. Once an addict switches to a safer alternative, provided that is a possibility, you can then begin the process of “recovering” the addict. I don’t understand why this isn’t blatantly obvious to the authorities hell it’s being done with methadone and suboxone to get people off heroin the only difference between those two and cannabis is the fact that cannabis is BY FAR safer for a person to use.

      3. @Wyldechylde- The problem is the Ohio Gov. believes the polar opposite, and believes MJ is just as dangerous as opiates and unfortunately, OH will have the most strict MMJ policies when it’s avail. this time next year/2018.
Thus far, the OH MMJ Medical Board will only allow any -1- Medical Dr. to RX MMJ to only -2- patients only for only a year or shorter at a time, and not consecutively. REALLY, they have made it THAT restrictive, and they have ensured the availability of those that actually could benefit from MMJ will only be the highest bidders or those and given Dr. may have a preference for.
My primary PCP’s RN flat-out told me that SHE will be one of his -2- MMJ patients before ANY of his patients….WTF?

What OH will soon have is many people finally making the exodus to other States where such BS restrictions are not imposed…and these such restrictions are what AG Sessions IS INTERESTED IN.

One thing to note: Also in OH, we will not be permitted to ever smoke it and they want to control the potency and no edibles.

Pacific North West bound in a few years. Unless something changes but now our State’s AG is running for Gov. and he will likely win, cementing in totalitarian fundamental Christian MMJ policies. 🙂

    2. Seymore,
On yesterday’s comment/article about the Marine who died of an apparent overdose of “Fentanyl”, isn’t it strange, that particular VHA didn’t have it! Yet, the “highway to Chicago of drugs” had fentanyl on it’s roster!

      Just thinking out loud!

      1. Nice Catch Elf,

If you go to the full article on the Marines death while in inpatient treatment. They clarify it by saying that no other patient was receiving Fentanyl at the time of the Marines death. So clearly He wasn’t taking meds meant for another patient in the program.

Also it makes clear that the Marine had been inpatient for about 4 weeks and had not received any Visitors. The only place he could have gotten the Fentanyl was from a staff member.

  12. Just a strong word of caution for everyone. It is time to change your passwords on your email accounts and any other passwords including banking and credit card accounts!

As I am sure you have all heard you should never open an email, or email attachment, from someone you do not know. Else a hacker can compromise your email account not only gaining access to your personal information, your account password and also the full use of your email account to send and receive emails.

A prime example of people who have learned the hard way is John Podesta. Whose Gmail account was compromised when he opened an email from the hacker named Guccifer. Podesta latter learned he had been hacked after his emails were leaked to the world by Guccifer.

With the current information available about Debbie Wasserman Schultz relationship with her IT pro from Pakistan named Imran Awan. It is clear that not only did Awan have full access to numerous Congressional email accounts, not only allowing him access to all emails in those accounts, but he also had access to send emails from those congressional accounts. Emails that contained viruses such as the one used by Guccifer. Only they are contained in trusted congressional Emails and would have been trusted by many to be safe.

The chain of hacks doesn’t end with the congressional emails. No doubt the virus after accessing a new account accessed the address list for each new email account infected and sent emails containing the virus to each of the people on the address list contained in that account. The newly sent virus laden emails then infecting the accounts of all who trusted the email and effectively infecting their own account. Then the process is repeated where the virus resends itself to all the addresses in the new accounts address list.

In essences, when all is said and done anyone who has received an email from any local, state or federal agency and you opened the email it is likely your account password has been compromised. It is time to change your passwords.

With what is going on in our Country right now things seem like they are going to get real and fast. Following Awan’s arrest last week, on Saturday Pakistan replaced their prime minister with one that is well connected to the Muslim brotherhood, Al Qaeda and ISIS.

Change your Passwords. Tell everyone close to you to also do it.

  13. AND YOU CAN BET YOUR ASS THAT PART OF THE 3 PLUS BILLION IS GOING BACK TO THE POLITICIANS POCKETS…..WHAT A DEAL ….NO ONE WANTS TO READ THE TRUTH…..

You can’t buy your way onto these pages

The power of the Israel Lobby and of AIPAC is not cost free for the American public. The current $3 billion plus that Israel, with a thriving first world economy, receives in military assistance is on top of the $130 billion that it has received since 1949. Protecting Israel in international organizations like the United Nations has sometimes marginalized the U.S. in such bodies and the lobby’s influence over American foreign policy has often been noted. In 2010 General David Petraeus stated that Israeli policies were putting American military personnel in the Middle East in danger. He quickly recanted, however.

Once upon a time AIPAC’s Steven Rosen boasted to an interviewer, “You see this napkin? In twenty-four hours, we could have the signatures of seventy senators on this napkin.” He meant that congressmen would sign on to anything if they thought it would please Israel. Recently the U.S. Congress has been working on bills that would criminalize individuals or groups that support a boycott of Israel. It would not be the first such legislation. The 2015 omnibus trade agreement with Europe included an amendment mandating that nations engaging in anti-Israel boycotts, to include “Israeli controlled territories,” should be subject to retaliatory action by the U.S.

There are currently two bills constituting the Israel Anti-Boycott Act of 2017 (S.720 and H.R. 1697) being considered by the Senate and House that outdo any previous deference to Israeli interests. The Senate bill was introduced by Senator Ben Cardin, who also had a hand in the trade-legislation amendments protecting Israel. According to the Jewish Telegraph Agency, the bill was drafted with the assistance of AIPAC. The legislation, which would almost certainly be overturned as unconstitutional if it ever does in fact become law, is particularly dangerous, and goes well beyond any previous pro-Israeli legislation, essentially denying free speech when the subject is Israel.

  14. You spoke on Big Pharma or Pig Pharma. And speaking of VSO’s. TONS of $$$$ is being spent and has been for a few months now on The Drug Price Relief Act in State of Ohio. Big Pharma and VSO Piggies are pushing against, stating it will increase prices for Veterans but never qualify exactly how….because it’s all smoke and mirrors, the VA and it’s Pharma Contracts are being guarded by the piggies obviously.

I mean, every hour there’s at least three TV commercials on various channels and this is for Nov. Election. This started back in May or April. Tons of $$$ in the troughs and maybe worth investigating WHY the VSO’s can turn a blind eye to all that’s wrong at the VA but act as if they have Veteran’s interest while chumming-up to Pig Pharma. WTF?
American Legion and DAV have at least sold their collective souls to Pig Pharma.
    Rant Out.

    1. Given Big Pharm is pushing along side of the Ass hats. Not a good thing.

The bill would push drugs at the same price the VA pays for drugs. Although they claim that the VA pays less for drugs and it would help reduce drug prices it won’t and the VA does not pay less for drugs.

The VA is currently in a sole supplier contract which leaves it paying what ever the supplier chooses to charge.

Before Shulkin drug suppliers bid on who supplied the VA with different pharm products, but after Shulkin the VA has gone with the sole supplier contract where there is no competition and the VA just pays the price charged by the sole Supplier. That was arranged while Shulkin was Under Secretary of Veterans Affairs for Health.

  15. The Hoax of Modern Medicine: Seven Facts You Need to Know
    “https://www.organicconsumers.org/news/hoax-modern-medicine-seven-facts-you-need-know”

What happens when the Bush Administration negotiates drug prices with private industry using public money? To answer the question, just consider the situation with U.S. government “negotiations” over the prices of prescription drugs for Medicare: The Bush Administration not only agreed to pay monopoly prices for medications, it also made it illegal for the government to negotiate any discounts with pharmaceutical companies!

The result? A multi-trillion dollar taxpayer funded subsidy to the richest corporations in the world: Drug companies. Click here to view the CounterThink cartoon on this topic.) But it’s not just the Bush Administration to blame here: no presidential candidate seems to be free from Big Pharma control other than Rep. Ron Paul, who is a strong advocate of genuine health freedom. Even the Democratic candidates are pushing tyrannical agendas. Former U.S. Sen. John Edwards, for example, has now publicly called for health care reform that would force all Americans to visit conventional medical doctors on a regular basis, then submit to chemotherapy drugs if any signs of cancer (breast cancer, prostate cancer, etc.) were detected. It’s a police state medicine proposal, and it came out of the mouth of a Democrat.

A multi-trillion dollar taxpayer funded subsidy to the richest corporations in the world….THAT GOES RIGHT BACK TO THE POLITICIANS POCKET……. WHAT A SCAM

  16. First;
Back in 2005 or 06, I was given two (2) meds by the head shrink at VHA in Lake Baldwin, Orlando, Fl.. Neither had been approved by the FDA.
After having SEVERE side effects, I decided to ask a pharmacist friend about them. His response was; quote: “Where the hell did you get these?” He then called someone to turn in that shrink!
On my next vha visit, I was informed that shrink had been transferred to another VHA clinic.
In my opinion, he should have been fired!
    P.S.
I still have the two bottles!

    Secondly;
Maybe this new book should be sent to President Trump and/or his subordinates.
The corruption in the VA needs to be STOPPED!
“LIAR SHITHEAD SHULKIN” needs to be, not only fired, he needs to be brought before a judge and jury! Especially over what’s occurring on his watch! President Trump needs to step up to the plate and get VA under control asap!
The first thing he needs to do, is dismantle the union! They are complicit and responsible for almost every crime committed by VHA and VBA employees!

    1. The cess pool Trump talked about includes the VA. Nothing will ever happen. New presidents are like summer help. They come, rattle the cage and leave. Case in point the American Labor Unions. Nothing will ever happen without them getting their pound of $$$
Convention of the states, power back to the states and go to a parliament type of government. People don’t have confidence in you, you’re out.

      1. I say let the states rule the states, we do not need the fed. government, They are nothing more than blood/money suckers and the bankers can stick it up there ass also, nothing more than a parasite …AND WE LET THE SHOW GO ON….

      2. Touche – you’re spot-on regarding parliamentary government. How come when we invade Iraq and Afdumpistan, we impose parliamentary rule. But it isn’t good enough for us here? WTF? Over?

  17. And if you happen to be a subject in a study they won’t change drugs if you have side effects. Purpose is to see how bad the side effects get. What per cent will have severe outcomes or die.

    1. I went through the misery of side effects. Took the statin drugs with little results other than the side effects. So they doubled the dose to get the desired effects. So much pain I stopped using them. Couple years later the heart blockage occurred and have not been the same since

      1. many common side effects of statins. They include muscle pain (myalgia), fatigue, exercise intolerance (muscles too painful and weak to exercise), memory loss, peripheral neuropathy (tingling, numbness or burning pain in the hands, arms, feet or legs), irritability, sleep problems and sexual dysfunction (such as erectile dysfunction).

I also cite a review of 880 scientific studies on statin side effects in the American Journal of Cardiovascular Drugs. Those side effects include not only the problems in the above list, but also cancer, stroke, diabetes, autoimmune disease, digestive problems, kidney disease, liver problems, lung problems, and weight gain.

How can one drug cause so many different problems? Statins block a cholesterol-creating enzyme that also creates coenzyme Q10. This biochemical sparkplug and antioxidant is found in every cell of the body, where it protects and nourishes mitochondria, tiny structures that produce energy.

Now you might ask yourself: If statins — the #1 prescribed drug in the U.S. — don’t work for primary prevention, how come you didn’t hear about this study on TV or read about it in the newspapers? Follow the money, I believe. The #2 source of advertising money for the media is (you guessed it) prescription medications. You don’t bite the hand that pays you.

It’s proven death….So fire up a bowl and forget what ails u instead…LOL

      2. I am statin intolerant, as is my mother. Have tried many different types and they all cause differing degrees of neurological symptoms, twitching, spasms, pain, and rapid heartbeat like adjusting to too high of a dose of a new antidepressant.

Instead, I recently lowered my LDL and raised my HDL by simply counting calories and using time-tested Weight Watchers…even lost 45 LBs in process.

Statins are terrible and I will never take them.

      3. I take one black beer per day instead. It is working fine. No cholesterol problem. But like all medicine if you take too much it is worse than not taking enough. The max dosage of black beer is 16 ounces per day before it starts playing havoc with your triglycerides.

However, I did try a homeopathic method with varying amounts of red rice yeast flour or some odd name as such, and what I have learned is that for the exact same reasons I am highly sensitive to most antidepressants/SSRI’s and other classes, is the statins also act in weirdly similar areas of central nervous system and if you happen to be highly sensitive or even leaning toward intolerant to statins, even the red rice and dark/black beer does not even bode well. Then again, I have also never acquired a taste or appreciation for beer or anything carbonated.

A really bad statin reaction for me involves even hives and since I already have a couple suppressed immune system things going on, I chose not to shake the tree and do it naturally and eating mindfully better, not so much exercise.

      6. Look up the Huston Medical School study on cholesterol. #1 is black beer, then beer, then red wine, then wine, then other ETOH. equivalent to 1 to 2 ounces of 100 proof whiskey. Never more than 2 ounces in a day. Frequency is more important than quantity. More ETOH lowers the cholesterol more but raises triglycerides to the point you are worse off. More means lower cholesterol and higher triglycerides.

That is the essence of the study as I remember it. Done with 26,000 plus subjects.

      7. @namnibor,@Lem,@Seymore,@[email protected],@OLDMARINE: I use to have cholesterol levels in the upper 600’s. After a major heart attack, that I should not have survived, the doc’s put me on statins, ended up on max dose of, and the side effects you can imagine. One of the side effects of statins is it attacks the muscles in your body, your heart is a muscle, just sayin.

It has been 10 years and still on max doses, along with ezetimibe to boot, which has been know to cause heart attacks, go figure, and a heavy dose of coq10. If your doctor scribes statins, without also scribing coq10, you just may have a doctor that needs to be changed out, that is clueless.

Combined with a healthy diet and the meds, my cholesterol levels have gone from well over 600, to hovering around 50. That is right where I need to be. After a heart attack your Cardiologist wants you at 70 or below.
I have tried everything under the sun, diet, exercise, red rice yeast, etc. even flushing type Niacin 6000mg, yes, 6000, that is no typo, twice a day, nothing worked except the massive amounts of statins, that I know is attacking my body in all manners possible.

Once you suffer an attack of that severity, and live to talk about it, you don’t have the luxury of trying home remedies any longer, at that point your messing with your life. Not that I wish to live any longer, just saying, in some cases your out of options, I am not overweight, or out of shape I am the exact same weight as I was when I left the military.

Even with all the damage to my body, and I will not list all those damages, I still work my ass off each and every day, You stop, you die, simple as that, if your not pushing yourself each and every day, and your not taking a break from doing so, then what are you doing, except waiting on the grim reaper. We are all soldiers, everyone of us, we do not give up………………………ever. It is not in our DNA to do so.

Aight, enough with the sittin around, the skeeters need another donation, and I have an ample supply of what they seek. A sure lure to their last meal. come and get it.

Seymore, in the article you posted a link to, about the Marion VA, the article mentioned a “Mel Gutierrez, chief of logistics” I wonder, is this person related to Congressman Luis Gutierrez from Chicago, who was a former gangbanger himself, along with his brother the convicted terrorist?

        Later Gators -!ii!-

      8. Diets did not do anything but I lost a ton of weight. Red Rice East did nothing for me but my Acupuncturist told me of some other stuff from Italy. I’ll bring it up after I try it for a while

  18. Did we not go through the same shit with the returning WWII vets in 45?
They were given opium injections in theater for combat injuries and became addicted.
after being home for a bit they turned to alcohol to remedy the withdrawal symptoms.
Nothing like speeding up the natural selection cycle with the help of big pharma.

    1. (Email protected)
      This isn’t new,
After our civil war, 1861-65, returning veterans were addicted to “laudinum” (sic)! A combination of Alcohol and Morphine.
There’s been TV western shows and movies made about it from the 1950’s, up until John Wayne’s movie “The Shootist”!
“The Shootist” was set in 1901, the same year Queen Victoria died!
The author, can’t remember his name, tried to show a correlation between a certain cancer and cowboys & long haul truck drivers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Who were afflicted with this deadly and extremely painful disease!
Even after WWI, some of those who came back, were addicted to “pain killers”!
Maybe that’s how these meds received that “Nick Name” – “Pain Killers” – because sooneror later, IF the disease didn’t kill you, the pain killer would!

    Things are falling apart.

How much longer we can sustain the fiction that we live in a constitutional republic, I cannot say, but anarchy is being loosed upon the nation.

We are witnessing the unraveling of the American dream one injustice at a time.

Day after day, the government’s crimes against the citizenry grow more egregious, more treacherous and more tragic. And day after day, the American people wake up a little more to the grim realization that they have become captives in a prison of their own making. No longer a free people, we are now pushed and prodded and watched over by twitchy, hyper-sensitive, easily-spooked armed guards who care little for the rights, humanity or well-being of those in their care.

The death toll is mounting. The carnage is heartbreaking. The public’s faith in the government to do its job-which is to protect our freedoms-is deteriorating.

    1. OLDMARINE,
What you’ve written is exactly how a majority of citizens, of the Continental Colonies, felt just prior to our Revolutionary War in 1776!

“Those who refuse to learn history, are DOOMED to repeat it!”

      1. The difference is then the focus was on a “King.” The real problem then and now is the “entitlements” of the “Lords”. Now we call the Lords the 1 per cent. But it is the same. They feel entitled to squeeze every ounce of sweat possible out of the proletariat. To the point of blood. And it is surprising the huge per cent that pay homage to the Lords who are taking food from their table and setting them before the death panel of no health care. Don’t figure?

      2. Hey, Lem,
How about this description of today’s “Lords” = “Congress Critters”!
And, of course, all the “Appointed Assholes” of the three letter agencies!

      3. Right on OldEinRam: The fatted sheeple in the lea of the land still believe in the protection from the shepherd. But the shepherd is actually a wolf. You don’t have to be Darwin to figure out what happens next. Our expectations of government legitimacy is only as valid as our enforcement of those expectations upon Congress. The people have the power, but are so effectively divided, and thus powerless as long as they remain suspicious of each other. The nomenclature of libturd and republitard says it all. We’re screwed. But – naaah

      4. .WINGWALKER ….Absolutely right got to keep them fighting among each other..
And how did you know I drove a goat head

      5. All is good, no revolution just be an advocate for which is non existent at any point. Relax n go. They r getting current military members on their side, calling them gov employees. Stupid military get out n see what status is. Then again so stupid military is banned from this. But in commissary bags grocery from gov employees Time to check, yes I know. My military that I have known is grotesque. I wish all was good but not. Book I am getting and passing around. Whoruh

      6. Government Has American’s Conned Six Ways From Sunday

But today, what most people don’t realize is that the tyranny of the British Empire in 1776 is a fraction of the tyranny of the current American government. Instead of punctuating the American government’s authority by brute force, it does it by the explosion and complication of the “rule of law” and the police enforcement thereof. It also does it by propaganda, cons, myths, distortions and outright lies. Remember Obama Care? “You can keep your doctor and your insurance.” The fact is, government, at all levels, has lost all credibility and cannot be trusted and should therefore be resisted by all means possible. Sadly, most Americans have such a fear of government resistance is the farthest thing from their minds.

    2. Yaaa – I’m touching that goat thing. But hey – whatever floats your landing craft. Just don’t be trying to sell me any feta.

      1. wingwalker…exhale out the piss tube call it in and then read this……A Jewish Defector Warns America:

  21. In the Big Pharma issues, the VA issues, our Congress, both houses, CIA,DEA, DOJ, DOD, HS, AND every political run entity; They are all crooked. They all need each other to exist. Big pharmaceutical companies couldn’t get where they are alone. Lobbyists paying Senators and Congressmen. How do we beat them? Right now, they hold all the marbles. Great interview Ben. I really need to read the book. Thanks

    1. @jo3n good points they co-exist with one another everyone especially the Vets have a dollar $ign attached to their Heads..Thanks Ben will be ordering it soon…

    1. Really glad to see a book come out on some of these subjects. About time, will it be read and discussed? I certainly hope so for our country’s sake. Too long, too avoided mass destruction of our country. Also, now opium epidemic that I hope our country and communities take seriously. Good job I will buy the book. I want all that has been going on too be exposed. No other way it will be handled. Too much money involved and no respect for citizens. Thank you

    2. Just at a social. Air Force Vietnam I think said just had some heart work done. I asked did u have tricare? No he said. Asked if he been happy with his care. He said yes for 28 yrs. wow. He said vets not happy with care because they don’t do what their told sounds like he doesn’t know all that goes on, or he is avoidant maybe VSO, maybe good luck or tricare. Adamant abt his care. Blind as he may be. Regular vets who were not treated well, do not give this addaboy, some were disregarded because of speaking up or being refused specially clinics and retaliated from speaking up do to negligence because they could. So exactly how do you do as asked if your constantly receiving secrecy punishment, that can be obvious and seen. This shit is weird, we got ppl we take good care of and we got ppl we will forever shit on cause they told. Can’t believe Vietnam vet oh yes it said it on his new hat would throw away facts principles and blindness to basic question of what about others who don’t get same as your good treatment It blows my mind, VA is taking care of special ones, avoiding who they please To those who leave behind brothers and sisters veterans. Please enjoy and get real, they are not worth losing your soul. Always new preferences going on otherwise y all the hoopla it’s so great. Don’t ever claim to have my back. Wrong is wrong and to listen and comply with wrong is wrong. Good day
