Veterans Lose Confidence In Finding Jobs

More veterans expect to look for work in coming months as they return to civilian life, many after being stationed in Afghanistan, but they are less confident about finding work that suits them, according to a new survey.

The twice-yearly survey, by Monster Worldwide Inc’s Military.com division, found fewer than half of veterans consider themselves ready to move into civilian jobs. The number who say they are confident about finding suitable work fell to 29 percent from 44 percent six months ago.

  1. I have to laugh about this economy as to the recent artcle in the paper and I quote it :
May’s Jobs Report Disappoints Across the Board
Well, this is a bad employment report — across the board. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the economy created just 69,000 jobs in May — the fewest in a year — and the unemployment rate crept up to 8.2 percent

Well, this is a bad employment report — across the board. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the economy created just 69,000 jobs in May — the fewest in a year — and the unemployment rate crept up to 8.2 percent.  So where are our returning veteran or for that matter anyone suppose to find work.  It has not gotten any better then 4 year ago so who is doing BS to sho.

  2. How are our Men and Woman in uniform suppose to find work when the jobs are not out there.  I live in New Hampshire.  New Hampshire is both a vacation and retire state.  They count jobs during seasonal employment.  Then when the season is gone so are the jobs.  Just in this weeks paper there is an article that reads.  N>H> Labor force hits a five-year low.  I know in other states it is either the same or greater.  NH Unemployment Statistics Labor Force (April 2011) 736,490 employed.  (April 2012) 731,920 employed,  4570 less jobs then in 2011.  Unemployed (April 2011-2012)  34,910,  Rate 4.7%.  So where are the jobs there are none as far as I can see.  The same was back in the early 1990’s after the Gulf War.  When the soldiers came home the jobs that they once had were no more.  So who is fooling who I have to ask that question.
