A video surfaced of a confrontation between a Congressman and a Park Ranger. In it, Rep. Randy Neugebauer chastised a park ranger for doing what she was ordered to do.

The ranger replied, “I’m not ashamed.” https://bit.ly/17BlQ1j. Nor should she be. While there are no criminal penalties for not following orders for civilians, the buck here stops with the White House and Congress.

Vice President Joe Biden called that park ranger to congratulate her for the great job she’s doing after the video made its rounds.

It looks like the issue has progressed to using wire ties to secure the barricade from future visitors to the WWII Memorial.

Here is a little background. Tuesday, NPS employees were setting up the barricade around the memorial.

Usually, NPS workers are not at the National Mall & Memorial Parks. It stays open 24 hours a day with no fence or gate to keep it safe from veterans or vandals. You would see beat cops on occasion.

That same Tuesday, an Honor Flight of WWII veterans requested access to the memorial but were denied by the White House. They went through the barricades anyway.

Later, the National Park Service reversed its position, stating the ceremony for the Honor Flight was a First Amendment activity. For that reason, the ceremony was to be allowed.

Today, journalist John McCormack reported the White House is continuing to hold the WWII Memorial hostage from visitors and veterans. Now, instead of just barricades that can be easily moved, the barricades are also wired together.

Curiously, the WWI Memorial has no blockade around it. Perhaps the reason is that no one is living from the Great War who can also be transported to the memorial.

It seems like the lesson here is that all war memorials that people want to go to see will be blockaded and wired shut.

Readers curious about the parks will not be able to read about them from the NPS. Normally, the NPS has a website for the National Mall & Memorials. However, it has shut them off by directing all web viewers to a new landing page for the shutdown.

This prevents school kids from doing research, at least from getting their information from the government. It prevents future tourists from making plans based on hours. It impedes on future First Amendment activities.

The contracts have likely already paid by the Administration for the websites. So it should cost nothing more to keep them up. In fact, it takes more work to shut off the website than to just walk away from the computer terminal.

They had to build the shutdown page and redirect the servers to it.

  1. Tim Sexton is handing out free knee pads during the shut down and is conducting research in the USFS on how to go down on Smokey the Bear with a full demonstration of his own talent’s of bestiality!

  2. Rep. Randy Neugebauer is a moron that should be fired. From the photos, it should be no problem to cut the wire. These wire ties could also be used to wire shut the doors of all those who went along with shutting down the government.

    • If a person does that, they would likely get arrested for destroying government property even if it is just wire being snipped w/ snippers.

    • The monuments and memorials belong to the people not the government. Neugebauer is just the start of a revolution that surely will happen if the current administration continues its dictatorial approach and desire to hurt the people.

  3. Get her name, because we the people shouldn’t be ashamed of putting her ass on the unemployment line.

    • Its time we the people took our country back from all these carpet baggers, the double standards, loop holes and all the other junk going on in Washington, DC. Obum a’ care. He should be the first to sign up, then congress and so on.

  4. Remember it was Obama in his first term who tried to place into motion a requirement for all veterans with service-connected disabilities to use their own insurance first to pay for medical care at VA medical centers.

The same Chicago thug that refused to give veterans any hope of relief if their VA-backed mortgages were suffering from the economy.

The same Chicago thug that will use a veteran’s PTSD diagnosis to disarm them even when they have never shown any proclivity towards violence.

The same CINC-wannabe who deliberately refused to backup our troops in Benghazi.

The same CINC who refuses to accept the Congressional compromise to pay us veterans while American citizens attempt to stop his overbearing mandate to force us all to bankrupt our livelihoods to his ill-conceived Obamacare that is now being shown to be toxic to all.

Yeah, 2014 can’t come soon enough for most veterans who will use their votes to boot out most Democrats and RINOS from political office.

      • Ed, you are entitled to your opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts.

Obama’s hostility towards veterans has been clearly evident since he refused to ship for free the military honor of Purple Hearts that veterans earned for wounds sustained in combat. Obama makes veterans pay Cash-On-Delivery for these medals!

No, Ed, you are wrong. The veterans that I talk to on the VA bus that shuttles them from the parking lot to the medical center overwhelmingly DO NOT LIKE Obama.

Overall, veterans will be voting in force in November, 2014, to vote out most Democrats and RINOS that do not support veterans.

    • Sorry John but you are incorrect. President-elect Obama never said he was going to make us pay for our VA health care. One of his staffers came up with the idea during a brainstorming session to reduce DOD spending. Since our VA health care falls under the DOD funding this idea was kicked around a short time before it was canned.

  5. ITo John Smith: in addition to the Republicans, we need “desperately” to get rid of any remaining Obama friendly democrats too. I blame the GOP for even thinking they should hold up our government to fill any agenda they may have. I blame the democrats for treating us vets so poorly, almost a “penalty” for putting our lives on the line so people like Obama can try to take over our country. We need to have term limits of two terms for all Congressmen and Senators so we can protect our rights. They get a lot of money from Tea Party type organizations to defeat the majority of what our citizens want. If they can serve more than 2 terms, we can limit or even prevent this kind of damage they recently have done. The original Founding Fathers would be turning in their graves if they knew what is being done to our Constitution. That’s all I have to say right now.
