VA Vocational Rehabilitation Policy

Veterans Have A Chance To Shape VA Vocational Rehabilitation Policy

The Department of Veterans Affairs announced an upcoming opportunity for members of the public to participate in an upcoming Advisory Committee meeting about VA Vocational Rehabilitation policy.

VA has at least 28 VA advisory committees including 17 that are established by statute. Each year these committees meet to discuss various issues related to the topic area and make recommendations to the VA secretary and related. The upcoming meeting, May 7-8, 2018, covers VA Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment along with other rehab programs for the Veterans’ Advisory Committee on Rehabilitation.

VA Vocational Rehabilitation is a program for disabled veterans with employment handicaps. It helps veterans struggling to gain employment due to their disabilities retrain or use other services to gain employment in suitable occupations using 5 employment tracks including long-term training such as college.

Personally, I used VA Voc Rehab to become a veterans rights attorney, and the program paid for my undergrad, law school, and law firm.

During that process, I wrote the Voc Rehab Survival Guide, an eBook that helps veterans access the program without being denied benefits during the application process. I now spend a ton of time working on policy fixes for the program and representing wrongly denied veterans.

VA is required by law to publish such meetings, and most if not all such Advisory meetings are open to the public. I encourage any of you with feedback and recommendations for the Committee to submit those in writing as noted below about VA Vocational Rehabilitation policy.

I published the entire notice below so you can participate. The Committee creates a report each year, and hopefully, your comments will be incorporated or considered by the members of the committee.

Um,….how about the VA get that “ethics thing” down first before trying to “fix” anything else? I about shat my coffee directly out my body laughing when I got to ^that^ part of projected “minutes” of their “meeting”…and I will go as far as stating they are only offering “written only suggestions” because they are the easiest to wad-up and place in the circular file and industrial shredder…

…”ethics training”….HA HA HA HA HA….maybe Satan could also sit-in on that meeting or is he teaching it? HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. “Ethics Training”??????

  7. “Former VA Secretary David Shulkin Wanted To Use Camp David As a Vacation Spot”

    Luke Rosiak
    Daily Caller
    4/22/2018

“Former Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary David Shulkin’s troubles with the White House began over what was perceived as a pattern of wanting special treatment and luxuries, including an insistence by Shulkin he be able to use Camp David, the president’s compound in Maryland, as a vacation spot, a senior official told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

A senior official with knowledge of Shulkin’s activities detailed a litany of examples of efforts to use his job to “live the high life,” including how he “wanted to bring his wife on a trip with Melania [Trump] but couldn’t do that and had a temper tantrum.”

At a Hannukah party where officials got a plus-one, Shulkin insisted on being able to bring his son in addition to his wife. “He asked so many times that the White House was on the lookout where if his son showed up, security knew not to let him in,” the official said.

“He wanted to be the exception. He would harass people in the White House and say ‘I want to do this,’ and he’d keep asking different people until he found someone who would say yes,’” he continued.

Since being fired by President Donald Trump May 28 following a damning inspector general’s report, Shulkin has gone on a media tour claiming he was pushed out for being a liberal bulwark against conservative efforts to “privatize” the VA’s health care services. The same media that made Shulkin’s travel an issue before the IG report and pilloried him as a corrupt Trump official for a month following the report now cast him as an icon of the resistance inside a Republican administration.

The senior insider said this is revisionist history and that the truth is classic Trump. Shulkin’s firing had little to do with politics and more to do with personality, he told The Daily Caller News Foundation. A more accurate storyline might be that Trump’s sensitivity to faux paus and social standing were set off by a subordinate who constantly seemed to be causing trouble by wanting to be the VIP.”

    1. If you ever noticed, Shulkin would appear to be “photo-bombing” just about *any* POTUS cabinet meeting or announcement, and ^^that Daily Caller article only emphasizes that the “God Syndrome” with former VA Suck is incredibly strong…just like all his minions he left behind….and even then this ass is STILL quibbling over semantics of whether he resigned, quit, or was really fired.

Good fucking riddance. Wifey Poo, too!

    2. Seymore,
The more information coming out about “Shyster Shithead Shulkin”, the more I get that he’s nothing more than a “spoiled little bitch!”
That’s probably why he didn’t want to fix the VA. He’s more about “photo ops with the VSO’s” and “Whatever he can steal from the American taxpayers”!
As far as I’m concerned, Shulkin is the reason behind the VA’s egregious acts against veterans!
