Yesterday, Facebook flagged an instructional video from the Department of Veterans Affairs Vets.gov website as possibly being “fraud and spam”. The video was posted to our Facebook group Disabled Veterans – Chapter 31 Voc Rehab by a member and flagged for deletion by Facebook for possibly violating the company’s Community Standards.

For the past year, veterans have complained about Facebook censoring posts related to veterans’ comments about firearms or the First Amendment. One PTSD awareness group was even shutdown. Some of my Facebook Live videos, critical of the federal government, were deleted and our notifications were shut off for some time.

Now, Facebook is apparently taking its algorithm the other way by auto-censoring videos from government-sponsored channels like Vets.gov.

The video in question was simply titled Appeals status on Vets.gov. It instructs veterans about the new platform and how to access status of a veteran’s appeal at the Board of Veterans Appeals.

The website seems to be a duplication of eBenefits.gov, but what else is new when it comes to the federal government shoveling out money to government contractors at breakneck speeds.

That aside, Senator Claire McCaskill called on VA and the Department of Labor to explain why both agencies created similar or duplicate websites that will confuse veterans.

The websites in question are Vets.gov and Veterans.gov.

RELATED: Voc Rehab Counselors Pushing Veterans Out Of Program

The latter was created by Labor for employment opportunities while the former was created by VA for benefits.

“I have no doubt the intention behind the decision to do this was good, but the practical effect is confusing and needs to be fixed,” McCaskill said. “Men and women who’ve served our country in uniform have earned the benefits laid out on these sites; it’s unnecessary to make accessing them more complicated than it already is.”

In a letter to the Secretary of Labor and the Acting Secretary of Veterans Affairs, McCaskill called for answers on what the agencies could do to share information between the websites and combine them into one site. “Despite Vets.gov’s purported goal of providing a single portal through which veterans can access all of their benefits, the website fails to alleviate the possible confusion generated by the existence of Veterans.gov,” McCaskill wrote. McCaskill requested details from the agencies by May 18th on the steps they will take to address this issue.

Regardless, the video in question from Vets.gov appears to be an authentic video posted by the agency on March 18, 2018.

A little about the Facebook group in question. Eight years ago, I created Disabled Veterans – Chapter 31 Voc Rehab to increase transparency about the program. Since then, it grew to over 26,000 members all fighting for their rights or helping others achieve success.

  1. Hmmm Seems to be just another way to back up a few more dump trucks up to the giant pile of money that is the VA, kinda like the four ” Sin-in Partners” on My Healthy Vet.com. Just more of the same.

This is an outrage! I can’t even post this article! Fuckerberg needs to fix this and instea, help our Vets, not hinder them. Someone needs to find out who is behind this! When I tried to share this article, this is what came up…more than one attempt.

    • Same shit happened to me the other day, Just email it to yourself, copy and paste it to assholeburg/fartburg , But eventually they will cut that method off also, Until then lets keep AI busy, I will never shut up until I get my visit to the Guillotine…LOL

  4. With all due respect Ben, I must admit that when I have viewed most official VA videos and information about themselves and how they operate that it automatically triggers my fraud and spam alert too. Maybe Facebook is just being honest at a core level?

    • Thanks Dennis I needed that this morning, my laugh O meter crossed the red line on that one, I know i have a warped sense of humor but that was funny too me, maybe

  5. Gov censorship is unconstitutional, so Gov uses corporations like suckerbook and other big media goons to do it for them. “Now Ward weren’t you a little hard on Beaver.” Mark Zuckerberg as the “Beaver”

  7. A few days ago, I warned y’all that “…Zuckerberg had hired the law firm directly connected to Eric “fast and furious” Holder!”
He’s hoping they can “…help in the censoring!” according to the article.
What does this actually mean? Your guess is as good as mine!

    • Eric Holder wants to now run for POTUS, I read the other day. Apparently, there’s still yet more damage that the Obama Admn. could have done that Holder will oblige Americans with making all of USA just like Chicago’s Wild West…Please God, help us…

      • namnibor,
Holder might want to stay out of the next race. He’ll be called out on how his “failed ops” got a few of our border guards MURDERED!
That ain’t the only thing he’s got to worry about either!

Let’s hope the judge sets the record straight for veterans!

  11. Last Saturday May 5th, 2018 Veteran Lonnie Kilpatrick passed away about his long bout with stage 4 kidney cancer. Lonnie had been treated at the VA Bay Pines medical Facility where he was misdiagnosed. For four years, doctors at the VA at Bay Pines said his back pain was arthritis and disc related.

In January of this year Lonnie and his family sought medical care outside of the VA and received the correct diagnoses of Stage 4 Kidney cancer. The VA treated Lonnie for kidney cancer in 2013, pronounced him cancer-free, then missed its recurrence.

Lonnie also suffered from heart disease and had a claim for exposure to Agent Orange as causing his heart disease. He believed his heart disease was tied to the toxic herbicide while stationed on Guam. The military’s consistent stance over the years is it did not use Agent Orange on Guam. The VA denied his claim.

Steve Andrews a reporter at News Channel 8 WFLA NBC TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. Reached out to get Congressman Gus Bilirakis involved. The Congressman then got the Department of Defense to declassified Lonnie’s records which showed evidence of Agent Orange exposure.

The VA reversed its denial and awarded Lonnie benefits, retroactive to 2010.

It was Lonnie Kilpatrick’s dying wish that other Veterans are able to benefit from what happened to him. So, to all the Veterans who have been denied benefits in the past for illnesses caused by Agent Orange Exposure while stationed on Guam. Here is a heads up that evidence does exist that Agent Orange was used at Guam. Although it may take forcing the Department of Defense to declassified your records to obtain the evidence of your exposure.

    • The government is still lying about where and when AO had been used. First they excluded Thailand. Then they said aerial dusting ceased in 72. Then they stretched airbases to ’75, saying only the perimeters were treated. Rubbish. I flew out of Udorn in 73 and 74 and witnessed/inhaled a C123 being loaded for use in what I suspected was Laos. We were still supporting Vang Pao and his crew against the Pathet Lao and NVA. The 123s would usually load from a tanker truck. But sometimes they’d load and mix, e.g. crank-pump the chemical from 55 gallon drums as they loaded the 123. The 123s didn’t have discreet revetments like the F4s. So, they essentially loaded in the open, and Cambodian T28s would cruise by, Scare America Porters, Otters, and the occasional OV10 Bronco would cruise by and we’d all get a little mist-i-fucked with that distinctive aroma of herbicide. No sir – you had to be a zoomie on the perimeters.

I have no associated (known) malady so no claim – yet. I have to wonder how many other guys who worked the flight line are being denied because they didn’t have perimeter security or maintenance gigs?

      Always with the lies.

Hep C? Oh no – it wasn’t our sera injection systems, no sir but we did sponsor a groundbreaking research for a cure for which Pig Pharma will profit quite handsomely.

TBI military and 3X probability of dementia? Oh no sir, it must be all that hip hop you listen to.

Nuke fallout issues from test facilities? Oh hell no – you were too far away.

Gets me all flag wavy n’shit.

      • Not to mention that Agent Orange was *also* used all OVER in good ol’ US of A on just about every railroad track criss-crossing USA.

My grandfather enlightened me when we were running a drainage ditch parallel to all those white gravel piles around RR tracks and they smelled really bad of chemicals…my grandfather would not even let me touch the gravel and went as far as making sure all knew to hose-off boots after work to get the defoliant, aka, Agent Orange, which was ALSO mixed with OIL and SPRAYED on gravel roads all across US of A…WHY?
Dust *and* weed control in one!

And if it was not bad enough we blew-up countless nukes in USA, some radiation clouds traveling as far as Rome, New York…from Nevada…but no…we also sprayed poison all over the USA as if Monsanto was testing “Round-Up” uses with all that *extra* agent orange…and we wonder why SO MANY cancers have popped-up?

        “War…What is it good for?….(nothing)…”

      • Nam, yeah people don’t consider such things like RR track spraying, farms over-spraying, and such. Cities spraying this crap on sidewalks, bark parks, etc., to keep shit looking like something to appease Martha Stewart styled living, photo op worthy for home and gardening. Gotta keep the local college crowd and country clubbers appeased too. Well go ahead and walk barefoot in the parks idiots and claim it’s all nice and organic, and appealing. Gotta make those manicured parks and weed free lawns look good for the local in-crowd and happy globalist demands to make everything look pretty and perfect while the inside rots. And ‘they’ won’t allow me to bring goats in to eat unwanted shrubs and brush away. Nonsense, but I can spray what I want. (?) Can’t burn it off either.

Something about the old Chlordane, now supposedly banned, when used way back when a kid would always make me sick just from the smell, migraines. Walked into a old Legion post here about 25 yrs ago, now closed, and smelled the stuff, instant sick, and brought it up to post commander. The dumb ass, past cop, past local well known politician, country clubber, mafia, had a garage full of that crap and was spraying it INSIDE the post and around for cockroaches, termites, and even killed mice.

The old dumb corrupt bastard died off and I don’t know what happened to all the junk and chemicals he had in his garage. Probably went to the city or county for use. Other dumb ass members and public didn’t seem to care much about it and others feared the local retaliation for wanting this guy and his family out for many issues including stealing funds.

Oh while out here is a one about patents I really don’t know if I posted or not..

  13. Business Insider: 3 VA employees indicted for accepting bribes. SOS, I know but the story is interesting.

  14. Taxpayers Money Wasted by VA Employees and no one does anything about it. For 28 years I have reported this and even federal employees violating 38 CFR 5905 which is a federal offense and they get by and get to draw retirement. It is ashamed our Congressmen have to their time writing letters to our President Trump about the VA mishandling adjudication of veterans claims and committing fraud. Veterans need help especially an Alabama Vietnam Widow fighting 28 years now deserving her benefits and the money wasted on her case could help President Trump put America back together again.

Our President needs to work on his Department of Veterans Affairs and keep a control over it
for the old employees are experts on getting around us and making us believe they are helping us
when they do not help they earn bonsuses instead at veterans and their widows and orphans costs.

Reports should get to our President instead of sending back to the RO’s to answer 0 in other words the fox should not be put in the henhouse but trapped and dealt with. The VA Department is like a swarm of locusts – They need stomping out and cleaning up.

  16. Man who drowned in Mississippi River in St. Cloud was veteran who just left hospital ER

Shannon Shaw had sought treatment for PTSD for nearly a decade, his wife said.
    By Tim Harlow Star Tribune
    May 9, 2018 — 9:58pm

“The U.S. Army veteran who drowned this week in the Mississippi River in St. Cloud had been discharged from a hospital emergency room just before he walked into the river, authorities said Wednesday.

Divers recovered the body of Shannon David Shaw, 49, Tuesday evening near the spot where he was last seen trying to swim across the river near the 700 block of 5th Avenue N.

Investigators are still unsure why Shaw went into the water, but his wife, Kristi, said he had been struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and had been unable to get help.

“I’m horrified with the situation,” she said. “I’m distraught. He was trying to get help, and no one would help him. My heart is broken.”

Police officers encountered Shaw Monday morning at a convenience store on the south end of St. Cloud. A customer filling up with gas reported that Shaw had climbed into his pontoon boat to sleep. Shaw, who had only a bicycle and personal belongings with him at the time, told Stearns County deputies he was homeless and had no place to go.

He asked to be taken to the St. Cloud VA Health Care System hospital, said Chief Deputy Jon Lentz.

VA hospital officials told Shaw he’d have to be medically cleared before they could take him. Deputies then took him to St. Cloud Hospital.

A hospital spokeswoman said Shaw was admitted to the emergency room Monday morning and given a thorough evaluation before he was discharged about 4 p.m.

About 40 minutes later, witnesses saw him go into the river, fully dressed, and start swimming to the east side. When he was about halfway across, he disappeared, and the witnesses called 911, Lentz said.”

  17. U.S. Senate candidate Richard Boyanton proposes closing all VA hospitals

    Tuesday, May 8th 2018, 3:55 pm CDT
    By Annie Johnson, Digital Producer
    WLOX 13

MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) – Tuesday, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Richard Boyanton of Diamondhead proposed a new suggestion about all Veterans Affairs hospitals.

“We should close down all VA Hospitals,” Boyanton proposed.

As a veteran himself and from talking with other veterans, Boyanton says, “the VA is not motivated for customer service like a private hospital” and “eliminating the VA would make private hospitals more viable”.

Boyanton believes this effort would ultimately save our government about 25 percent on what is spent on the VA hospitals now. He believes this would help private hospitals, and also veterans would have the same care that a private citizen gets that he says you don’t get at a VA Hospital.

The Senate candidate believes the care at the VA is lacking. He said if you are having a heart attack at a private hospital, they operate immediately. He says that is not the case at a VA. Patients with certain blockages are put on a waiting list.

Boyanton says if elected to the U.S. Senate this is an issue he will pursue. Boyanton is challenging incumbent U.S. Senator Roger Wicker in the Republican Primary in June.”

    • I’m all for closing the doors to all the VA hospitals and clinics. It’s not working and no one can fix it because you got VA employees who hate Veterans and don’t care as they think we just want hand outs and free money.

How many Veterans suicides, deaths, maiming, wait list, conduct experiments, etc are we, Americans, going to allow the VA to do each year before we say, “Enough, is enough. Close the doors!”

Yeah every place has great employees and terrible employees the difference is …. what you decide to do about it. VA has proven it cannot enforce the law/regulations and hold people accountable and cannot manage anything effectively.

Veterans who have dies because of VA are important, they had family, they had friends, and they deserved to care quality healthcare. THEY MATTERED.

  18. Longtime Trump stalker ‘objects’ as his case is sent to veterans court
    By Shayna Jacobs
    | NEW YORK DAILY NEWS |
    May 04, 2018

“President Trump’s eccentric longtime stalker pitched a fit as his four-year-old case was sent to veterans court Friday — even though the switch could get him mental health services and spare him a criminal conviction.

Frank Monte, 47, a Navy veteran with a long history of courtroom rants and outbursts, was shut down by Justice Mark Dwyer as he voiced displeasure with the transfer of his case.

“May I say on the record I object to veterans court?” said Monte, who was surrounded by a team of court officers at the hearing in Manhattan Supreme Court.

“That’s great,” snapped Dwyer, who repeatedly told the unruly defendant to stay mum.

As court officers tried to escort Monte out of the courtroom well, he stalled and tried to argue — and his lawyer and the judge were helpless to stop him.

“Judge Dwyer! Why can’t I ask you a question?”

“You’ve got an attorney. Your attorney is going to be asking questions for you,” answered the fed-up jurist.

Monte was released from custody in May 2017 after bouncing around for 3 1/2 years between jail and mental health facilities.

“Justice! It’s terrible!” he whined as he headed out of the courtroom.”

When it launched two years ago, the Manhattan Veterans Treatment Court was hailed as a program “designed to identify veteran-offenders suffering from addiction, mental illness or co-occurring disorders and link them to treatment and services to divert them from incarceration.”

The case will be referred there for Monte to be considered as a candidate for services.

Monte, who has been found unfit for trial several times since his February 2014 arrest for stalking and harassing Trump and his relatives, complained after his hearing that veterans court “is two things. It’s drug court and mental health court.”

Monte began trying to contact Trump in 2008, prosecutor Kenn Kern said at the time of his arrest.

Monte was busted in 2014 after he showed up at Trump Tower and allegedly stole a photo of himself posted at the security desk.”

  20. Another one to consider.

Things aren’t going to get better. Thanks do nothing Trump, Congress and other lying scum-bag over-lords and corporate anti-American trash. Exile, treason, trust laws, Const violations, and deportation should be in the sheep’s minds, not Hollywood or kid games.

  21. I really don’t give a Sht about what my firm belief if a Disabled Veterans is 100 service percent definitely need to have G4 implants from a Cosmetic Dentistry Dentist because their is not one works at a Veteran Medical Centers and has no contract with Veteran Affairs Administration so Veterans who reads this called your Senators and Representative contract the Veteran Affairs Committee passed a New Disabled Veterans Benefit Law if a Disabled Veterans is 100 service percent don’t get the G4 implants for free it definitely caused other Health Care Issues to more precise if a Disabled Veterans has PTSD it make its worst so Spread the word to your Friends on Facebook or off Facebook and you don’t have to be a Veteran to call your Senators and Representative share my my firm belief as a Concerned Veteran you don’t like my firm I really don’t give a Shit what comes around goes around.

    • So the only thing you keep going for is the $50,000 to $75,000 G4 implants.

How did your teeth get into the condition they are in?

Do you even consider the number of Veterans who could get dental care with the $50,000 to $75,000 you want the VA to spend on you?
